    its not out of focus

  • t0mmyb0y Apr 15, 2008

The unit doesn't seem to be "out of focus" but it does have 2 images side by side .

  • t0mmyb0y Apr 20, 2008

i think i checked it out pretty good ? .......no apparent cracks, all squares of glass in place, mirrors OK, etc..
The picture shows a (as in the menu words),there are the darker main words and the double is right next to it but not as quiute as dark( like a shadow).

  • t0mmyb0y Apr 21, 2008

i have not put in any pix..strickly menu...all blk. shadow (2nd image) lighter .

  • t0mmyb0y Apr 24, 2008

can you give me a little more info. on this "lcd panel" ? As mentioned b4 I don't have it hooked up to anything , strickly reading the "menu".

  • t0mmyb0y Apr 25, 2008

Where might i get this jewel ? I've looked on line...no real help.
Do you have a part # for it?

  • t0mmyb0y May 01, 2008

What does this (aproximately) cost ?
I would love to have some sort of part #... I can't find any "blowup pix" or anything other than the owners "type" manual.Which is pretty much useless.....

I think one of the glass pieces is cracked or out of position and so creating a double image, please check the lens for anything that looks abnormal.

Please let me know what you find

Do the two images both have the same colors only one darker than the other or is one image more red and the other more green or some other color.

Also, have you tried a different cable at all or are you using any type of splitter?

    Thank you.

First you must check or replace the external RGB Cable before doing anything else to make sure it isn't the problem if you haven't done so already.

Next please check the LCD Panel which I think will need to be replaced and I'm sorry to say but it won't be cheap.

Let me know what you think after doing this.

the lcd panel is an internal part that helps scale the picture to optimal quality, replace it and I believe you will solve your problem

call 1-800-338-9549 and tell them what you need and they can help you get it, (manufacturer's number)

I'm sorry that I can't get a specific part number but NEC doesn't give any easy way to get one. It will probably cost $300-$600 but you will have to call them to see.

the best info I can give on this part is from a manual

Here is a link for the user guide. Try to adjust the focus, if that did not work you can also try a factory reset found on page # E21.

There are blueish-purple crystal-like distortions in the projected image. They actually can be brought into focus to look at, and at that point the projected image is extremely out of focus. So, obviously,...

either there is something on the inside of the lens, or there is something on the lcd prism face. if it was the lcd panel, it would be in focus with the picture. take it in for a good cleaning.

Hi kmarie01

This is most probably a faulty Ballast ( lamp's powersupply ) that will have to be replaced before the Projector will come on at all.

NEC Overhead Projector

Hi Forrest

This sounds like a damaged Mainboard.

First check if your Projector is still under warranty as this is a very expensive part to have replaced.

Also check if it has any effect whatsoever using another PC Cable.

Hope this is of help.

Double vision-without viewing under the influence

Their are adjustments on the main video board of the projector for alignment of the three LCD screens, But these should only be made by a qualified professional as they can make it worse if done wrong.
