SOURCE: LG Bottom Freezer Freezes But Food Compartment Warm

Try completely defrosting the unit (turn it off), then start it again and see what you get. Check that the ventilation around the outside - especially the back - is ok. If no luck from that then you should be able to get it fixed under warranty; http://us.lge.com/general/contact.jsp If your warranty is not valid for any reason, please ask again and we may be able to help, however the majority of things that might need to be done to a unit like this are illegal to perform unless you are qualified, and require quite expensive special tools. It is almost certainly fixable, and would certainly be cheaper than a new fridge. Hope this helps :)

The water and ice dispenser on my 2015 Samsung refrigerator model # RF23TEDBSR has stopped working, additionally, the interior is freezing items in certain areas.

Sounds like there is a thermistor  pt# DA32-10104V out of tolerance in the fresh food section which is located in the evap cover assembly . Things are freezing in there which could also be the cause of the icemaker and water issue. Both of which come from the filter and the filter or water lines could very well be froze up. I reccomend replacing that thermistor then simply unplugging the fridge and opening doors for 48 hours to defrost anything frozen.

Water is building up on bottom of fridge

If you have water build-up on the floor of the food compartment, or ice buildup on the floor of the freezer compartment, you are probably suffering from either a frost problem or from a clogged defrost drain.

Remove everything from your freezer, including all food and any shelves. Do not remove the icemaker (if installed.)
Look at and feel the panel covering the bottom or back of the freezer compartment. Is it thick with frost?
On top freezer models, are the holes in the top of the food compartment that lead to the evaporator choked with ice?
Is there ice forming on, or lots of water on the ceiling of the food compartment?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, there's probably a defrost problem.
If you suspect a defrost problem, first remove any icemaker that may be installed. You will see a removable panel covering the entire back or bottom of your freezer compartment. There may be 6 to 10 or more screws holding it on. In some units there is a light socket attached to the panel; you'll see this arrangement most often in side-by-sides.

If you start to get an unusual buildup of ice in one particular spot in your freezer, especially beneath the icemaker, check for water leaks.
Water leaking onto the kitchen floor not traceable to one of the problems in Chapters 4 or 6 may be from a leak in the icemaker or door dispenser water system. Icemakers have a water solenoid valve mounted on the back of the fridge, usually behind the back bottom panel, and a water tube that leads straight up the back of the fridge to the icemaker. Door dispensers have a similar water solenoid valve with a water tube that leads beneath the fridge and into the door through a hollow hinge. If your fridge has both features, it's usually a dual water solenoid valve. It can be simple or not-so-simple to fix, but basically it's just a plumbing job.

Replaced the defrost heater, defrost thermostat, worked good for about 3

If the icemaker refill solenoid does not close properly or stays open too long excess water enters freezer compartment and that will freeze over the ice making machine plus other areas of freezer. There is an adjustment on the ice maker to regulate the amount of water going in - locate the screw (behind front panel of maker) and turn counter clockwise to lessen time of fill operation). Problem is not with the GE

Hi, I don't know where the serial number can be found on fridge. 2 door, freezer in bottom, with water on door. Anyway, Icemaker inside just stopped all o f a sudden. it is only 1.1/2 years old. Purchased...

The serial and model numbers are usually located inside the fresh food compartment either on the side or upper area. If not there, then the numbers are probably at the bottom of the refrigerator (remove the kick panel (if applicable) or look along the lower edges of the frame.

Your issue with the icemaker may be one of the following:

* icemaker
*water valve assembly
*water supply line (make certain that it's "on")
*water filter

Easiest way to thaw out a possible frozen water reservoir in my GE side by side fridge?

Hair dryer is the easiest way to thaw. To find cause: Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer2_bing.gif door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ring2_bing.gif on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X10173 water tube heater2_bing.gif. (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter2_bing.gif or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

If water filter or water line/ reservoir is frozen, thaw with a hair dryer. If reservoir is frozen, check to make sure there is no frost on back wall of inside freezer, preventing normal air flow, allowing cold air to enter fresh foods compartment through return air vent at lower back of fresh foods compartment, resulting in freezing of water line / reservoir and possibly food in bottom bin.

LG LFX25960ST refrigerator food freezing above the pantry draw. Made all the tempature adjustments and still happening.

I have the same problem and I know the solution.
For LG to get their "in the door icemaker" to work, they have to blow cold air into the door's icemaker compartment. This air travels through two vents located just inside the refrigerator on the left side. The problem LG has is that the seals between the door and the refrigerator for these vents leak. This means that cold air is vented into the refrigerator compartment. Any sensitive food placed on the bottom two shelf on the left side will freeze. I can place two bowls of water in my refrigerator and make ice in 6 hours, even though the refrigerator is set to 38 degrees. The good thing is that LG knows there is a design problem and they know they can not fix it. After calling LG repairmen out for my freezing problem and not getting the seals fixed, LG gave up. Of course LG will try replacing the seals, and then replacing the door; but the real problem is a bad seal design. Just keep putting bowls in your refrigerator and as long as they continue to freeze up, keep calling LG back and demand that they fix the problem. LG can not fix the problem because it is a bad design, so now I am getting a new refrigerator Model LFX 29927, which is better and has dual icemakers. If you an LG refrigerator with their in the door icemaker, place two bowls of water inside the refrigerator, and if your seals are bad and they freeze; complain to LG until they give you a new refrigerator.
