Question about Canon imageCLASS MF6590 Copier

System keeps initializing, will not allow you to copy or print. the message also states toner low prepare new one. we have inserted a new cartridge. i've turned have unplugged and turned it, waited 5 mintues not luck.

Are the machine making noise that sounds like something is turning? If yes, that means that the machine replenishes the toner. Give her a little more offs and ons.
If does not help call service.

I have a Ricoh Aficio 1013F that has a about 65000 copy count. I replaced the drum/imaging unit a few months ago. recently, we stupidly let the machine run a week or so while it was calling for a toner...


I think you will have to reset it ..and the procedure to follow is this..
take it slow and be sure it is the correct one ..If it seam not to work try again ..
Press "clear mode" key then enter107 then press and hold down "clear/stop" key, touch on screen for "copy" then press 5992 hit enter, touch 0 to print out the standard setting list, turn off the copier when you finish.

Display fax gives a warning "received in memory" we also have a warning "prepare black toner" We can not print the fax! What can we do?


Generally the "received in memory" message is a result of the machines inability to print. I.E. It received a fax, attempted to print it, failed, and then stored it in memory to print once the issue has been corrected.

The Prepare Black Toner error is likely directly related. If the toner cartridge is empty, inserted incorrectly, or damaged it could be causing this error. Try reseating the cartridge by removing and reinserting. If that doesn't clear the error try replacing it with a new Canon branded cartridge.

As soon as you correct the printing issue the stored faxes will print.

Replace the toner: Always use the smart card provided with the new Print Cartridge when replacing the cartridge. The smart card contains the information necessary to reset the level of Toner. Replacing the cartridge without using the smart card may result in the consumable management system being inaccurate.
  1. Insert the smart card provided with the new Print Cartridge into the smart card reader. A "Change Toner?" message will be displayed.

  2. Press the [OK] button. An "Open Front Cover Replace Toner" message will be displayed.
  3. Push on the left and right side of the Front Cover and simultaneously lower the cover.

  4. Grasp the handle on the Print Cartridge, and then raise and remove the cartridge from the machine.

  5. Unpack the new cartridge, and then insert the cartridge into the machine.

  6. Close the Front Cover. A "Have You Changed the Toner?" message will be displayed.

  7. Press the [OK] button. A "Please Wait" message will be displayed while the machine reads the smart card, and then a "New Toner Remove Card" message will be displayed.
  8. Remove the smart card from the reader and dispose of the card as normal office waste.

    NOTE: If the smart card has been used with a previous installation of a Print Cartridge, a "Remove Card Already Used" message will be displayed. The smart card can only be used once. Make sure to use the card that came with the new cartridge.

My toner was low, so I replaced it...it printed one page and now won't copy or print (cannon multipass mp730)


Hello,

If you changed the toner cartridge before the previous one was completely empty, it is possible the machine simply did not reset.

Turn the power off and take the new toner cartridge out. Turn the power back on and wait for a message telling you there is no toner.
When you get the no toner message re-insert the new toner cartridge.

If this does not clear the message, you will need to find the button to press to manually reset the toner cartridge from Canon.

I get a toner low message with the Lexmark X342n when the toner keeps working for a few more months???


Depending on how much you use the unit it could. If you are a casual user and do not use it everyday I would not see why it would not. I have had toner cartridges which give the low toner warning and they last for years. The other thing you can do to extend the use of the cartridge is to remove it periodically and rotate it end to end and side to side. This will redistribute the toner across the roller and allow you to print good copies. If you don't do this the toner gets trapped in some areas and you could be throwing out a cartridge with alot of copies left in it. Let me know if you need more help.

Received "Low Toner" message. Replaced toner with new Brother cartridge still have "low Toner" meaasge and [printer will not print.


Please check if you removed the Plastic Tapes which is placed in the side lock of the new Toner Cartridge.

Canon ImageClass MF 6550 Error Toner Low- Prepare New Toner


There are two contact on the right wall off the printer cartridge chamber area. They can get pushed in causing the printer cartridge to not read correctly. Take a small Flathead screwdriver and bend them up so the cartridge ink level can be read.
