New voice mail

How do i get my phone to stop saying new voice mail, and the blue light to stop blinking? And no, I don't have a new voice mail! Help!!

    how do i get my phone to stop lighting up at all times of the night. the bright blue is irritating.

    I have the same twin phones and both have a blue light that won't stop flashing... can't sleep at night. Mine do not have an answering machine at all... just the phones.

    Both of my phone blue lights go on and off constantly.

    We have the same problem--the other night the blue light started blinking on both phones and won't stop and we don't have a new message. If they are off the cradle they blink faster. I may try re-registering, but don't want to reprogram them if I can help it.

    OMG! Our phone started doing the same thing today. The blue light is driving us NUTS! I emailed GE. If they should respond and offer assistance I will relay the results.

    Yup, same blue blinking light and red flashing base. Checked and deleted all messages. So what gives?

Without me doing anything, the blue light stopped flashing and the text that showed "New Voice Mail" went away after about three or four weeks.

I emailed GE customer service about the problem with the phone blinking blue indicating I have unheard voicemails when I don't have a voice mailbox. The responded via email telling me to unplug the phone from the electrical out let, the phone cord from the wall and removed the batteries for 5 minutes. I did it for 10 minutes. Guess what...It is still blinking!

I then made a phone call to them. I spoke to a really nice man who offered this: I can pay to ship the phones (3) to TX to their customer tech center, allow them to fix it or if they can not they will mail me new ones. I didn't want to pay to ship them down there but was willing until he told me they would work on my phones for 14-21 days before they knew if they could be fixed or replaced. In other words it would be almost a month that I would have to go with out my phones. What a joke! He said that was all he could offer. He suggested I just buy new phones. So that is what I am doing. Oh yeah...and they will not be GE!

Put a piece of electrical tape over the light. I cant turn my blue light off either.

Most of the time your home phone service has a digital voice mail like your cell phone does. If the answering machine is set for an amount of rings that is too long the digital voice mail service will answer before your machine. The new cordless phone indicators do show messages on your digital voice mail as well as the answering machine. Depending on your home service, most of the time when you press talk and you hear a different non standard dial tone(mine pulses 3 times before going to solid dial tone) you have a digital message. You need to delete this message before the indicator light will stop flashing. Then set up you digital voice mail for a longer pickup time! This should get rid of this problem.

My uniden cordless phone says vm on the screen. What does that mean?

It is voice mail and some time you checked voice mail on your cordless phone but light will keep flashing that you need to check your voice mail. if it does not fixed then You need to also delete the voice mail from any voip device and it should turn off blinking lights and will clear vm message.

Indicator light won't stop flashing

I have a Uniden 5.8 GHz and the message indicator light will not stop flashing. The phone screen says I have a voice mail but I don't. Does anyone know to fix it?

I have a ge dect 6.0 and it flashes a blue light and display says NEW VOICE MAIL...i have an answering machine not voice mail..HOW DO I GET THE BLUE LIGHT TO STOP flashng?

Try pressing the message button and see where is rings to. If this is on a phone system the call back feature got turned on by someone call that phone while it was in use. By pressing the message button that ext. will ring...answer it and then the light will stop blinking. Also note this can be set multiple times. Another way is if this is on a digital KSU enter the feature clear code *790 that will also clear message light.

If this is one of the consumer line phones the phone company is sending a signal that the voicemail box they are providing has messages. You will need to consult the instruction manual to clear that if the phone company does not provide that service. If it there and you don't know its there the light will keep coming back on. How do i stop the blinking blue light on my ge 6.0 phone?

hi... first of all clear all voice mails from the provider (Comcast digital voice service allows you to do it via web),  and ur dial tone will returne to normal sound and ur light indicator will stop flashing....

New Voice Mail flashing light

press "mute" key to access menu, press the up or down arrow key labeled "caller ID- volume" until you get to "handset setup", press the "mute" key again, press the down or up arrow until you have "defaultsetting" selected, press "mute" key, press "1", then press "mute" once more. At this point your handset will reset clearing the indicator for all the handsets. I've had to do this twice on my phones and it worked every time.

Indicator message light on handheld phones do not go off!!!

on the base set, press and hold the voice mail 1 button. You will get a message clear voice mail indication? hit the sel/save button to the left of the display.

New Voice Mail flashing light

What worked for me was to call my phone from another phone and leave myself a voicemail. I then went in and retrieved and deleted that voicemail. Once I hung up from my voicemail service my handsets reset about 10 seconds later.

Now to fix your GE phone:

Push the program key. Select Handset Setup Push the program key Select Default Settings Push the program key Select 1 Yes. Push the program key

call your phone service and have them disconnect the voice mail and if they cant just remove that have them set there rings at like 9 since most phones only have up to 5 rings for the machine to will have to use there voice mail service to hear your message and then delete it but should be good after that. i have comcast and they said it would take 3 days to deactivate voice mail but told me how to get there so i can get rid of that flashing light, hope this helps you
