The light blinking seven times is a error code specifically it's error #7 .The E-7 error indicates the part called the flow meter is bad. To clear that error code and get the dishwasher to start push within 3 seconds HIGH TEMP WASH -HEATED DRY-HIGH TEMP WASH- HEATED DRY
then push CANCEL sereval times to dishwasher shuts off..it should start and run then
If the blinks 7 times again the flowmeter will need to be replaced
ON some models the "HIGH TEMP WASH" button is labled power scrub instead of high temp wash so in that case push POWER SCRUB-HEATED DRY-POWER SCRUB-HEATED DRY then cancel as described above
In case the E-7 error returns and the flowmeter needs to be replaced the part number for it is W10195536

Hello & Welcome to FixYa Flashing light is reset by pressing two buttons in sequence 3-4 times, to reset your dishwasher press these buttons in sequence: High temp wash-heated dry-high temp wash-heated dry Please get back to me if you have any other questions. Kevin
try this and make sure you water is hot enough to cycle your washer, as it has a temp. sensor for this.
The clean light sometimes flashes and just needs to be reset. To do so hit the keys in the following order. <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Cancel>.
Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.
To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence... -high temp wash -heated dry -high temp wash -heated dry
Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
if you have a whirlpool/ kenmore dishwasher and the clean light is
flashing 7 times then pauses and then repeats, it is a problem with the
heating circuit.
follow this keypad operation: push the high temp wash, air dry, high
temp wash, air dry. this will put the unit into a service mode and it
will run a short diagnosis cycle. after it gets done, about 5-7
minutes, then it will reset and allow you to use the unit again.
make sure the water is hot enough at your faucet at least 120 degrees, and the door is getting closed tight.

the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic
cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2
minutes). You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
If
the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit
(ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could
also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed
(slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door
when you close it).

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
