Try installing the motherboard sound driver again. reboot pc and select the appropriate sound device that you have plugged in. if you like this solution, pls vote for me.

If this is confirmed the fault seems to be in the preamp section or the SIF- sound intermediate frequency section. If you have confirmed that the output is workingg by conneccting an input to the audio input then it should be confirmed that there is no output from the audio line out.
If so you will need to trace using a AF- audio frequency- signal to confirm the area of loss of the AF.
Sometimes this can be some coupling stages or an OP-Amp.
Please trace using a signal and a voltage test. If not get help.
Are you selecting the correct video input on the TV that corresponds to the HDMI location? Direct is usually the simplest way to go. Is the HDMI cable okay? Try component video, too.
You can either connect the antenna output of the VCR to TV ant in or hookup the audio/video outputs from VCR to audio/video TV inputs. If using the antenna output you need to sellect channel 3 or 4 to view VCR. If using the adio/video lines you need to select the line input on TV to view VCR.
It's quite possible one of the relays is failing that is part of the switch between audio output choices. Do you notice any output difference between a certain output (i.e. dvd, tape etc)or is that point arbitrary?
