If your are tapping the F key repeatedly it will beep after the first one. If you don't tap, does it still beep? Have you loaded your touchpad drivers? The only time I've ever seen than happen is when the touchpad drivers aren't loaded. The touch is extra sensitive if your palm(s) just barely touch the pad.
By loading the touchpad drivers, you should be all set

It is most likely the touch pad...a way you can tell is if you have a USB mouse, turn off the touch pad and use the USB mouse...go to type and see if it still jumps around.
Sounds like you have a driver issue that is conflicting with a current setting. Do you play games that are very demanding on your video resources? What you can do is uninstall the driver or roll it back and restart the computer. Helps if you have the driver file for which ever video card you have, I have the 7950gtx and it never had any problems with Left 4Dead or Unreal Tournament. I keep a notebook cooler handy when I'm gaming.
