This is a 4 yr old Sony KV-13FS100. The channels on the screeen display cycle through on their own. The reote is inoperative, and the channel buttons on the tv do not work. I have unplugged the set and plugged it back in without resolution. Help
I also have a Sony Trinitron model KV-13FS100 (chassis BA6, mfg July 2002) which is experiencing the same problems. I have made the checks suggested by pauldonp above. The channels cycle 1,2,3,4,5 etc. The remote has no effect. The channel up/dwn buttons on the TV have no effect. However when I press volume up or volume down on the TV it stops the channels from cycling for a moment before they continue again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to change the control board or the touch buttons

The remote has no impact on the TV at all. We don't use the remote for this TV.
The numbers cycle down over and over, but channel itself does not change.
When I push the volume buttons, the channel does change, but not consistently.
Unplugging the TV for 1 minute and then plugging it in has no effect.
It is connected directly to cable (no box).
I still have the same problem when the cable is disconnected.
Great, can I buy one of those at Wal-mart?
Just kidding. I'll take in to the repair center next week. Kind of a PITA though.
