Screen bleeding blue-green along entire length (heighth)left side

Picture starting to "bleed" blue-green along entire left edge.
I've been out of town and just noticed it yesterday and today.
Is this a big problem? Is it something that I can fix? how?
or is indicative of a major/costly problem.
Can you help me please?

This may be some bad capacitors on the video output board or in along the processing path of the video amp sections. It is also possible that the CRT is causing this.

The set should be properly checked to determine the fault.

Remove purple haze around edges

The set needs to be focussed and reconverged. The red and blue images combined make a magenta/purple image. Adding green makes it white. Depending on the type of TV, if it's a CRT projection TV then there's an electronic focus control for each of the three tubes as well as the mechanical adjustment of the optical lenses. Given the description, then I'd have a look at the electronic focus first. A sudden shift in focus suggests that something in that circuit has given out. This would cause the red and blue images to go soft enough to create a halo around objects on screen.

I have changed the rear spindle on the driver side and the rear brake pads. How do I bleed the brakes, or what do I need to do now to get the brakes to work correctly?

On each wheel cylinder you will find a bleed valve. Open the right rear and have someone step down on the brake, then close the valve. Release the brake and repeat. Do that as many times as necessary 'till you don't get air along with the fluid. Repeat the process at the left rear. Before you begin bleeding, fill the master cylinder and check it frequently while bleeding. don't allow it to run dry or you will need to begin the entire process again. Brake fluid can mar your pai8nt so always cover the master so fluid does not get everywhere.

White dashes across top left of TV screen

That is what I was going yo suggest. You can also adjust the picture size. "Just" will show all of the picture even the distortions on the edges. "Full" will in effect overscan and trim those edges off.

Have you tried disabling SVM (scan velocity modulation)? Often touted as a "feature" of TVs, it's a way of artificially making a picture appear sharp. Totally unnecessary. When SVM (sometimes called VM) is on, it can lead to some color bleeding around edges.
