When we receive incoming calls, the callers complain that they cannot hear us. On our end we hear a "humming" noise like you'd hear if you tuned into a radio station where you'd hear the program's content, but there would be a hum or buzz which would interfere w/ the clarity and volume of what was being broadcast.
I would suggest to try another phone. I am considering that the phone line is okay. It is possible that there is a fault in the power supply inside of the base station. I have seen the supply section in the base station go defective causing hum, and or complete failure of the phone.
If the power supply is at fault, the failure can be a voltage regulator, or some bad capacitors, or something along that line.
