Why does my xm radio always have to be refreshed after my vehicle has been turned off. The poer to the radio is not lost because the clock is always running. I have to refresh the radio everytime I want to use xm

You need to have one wire on an always 'hot' power feed. Be careful, as some GM products have a timer that shuts off the power after a 10 minute timer, so that could be your issue. Are you talking about a factory installed XM, or one like the photo above?

How do I refresh my XM signal?
The refresh signal will be sent from a satellite, so make sure your vehicle is outside and your antenna has a clear view of the sky. Turn your radio on and tune to Channel 184 for Sirius radios or Channel 1 for XM and SiriusXM radios. Hey sorry i do not have an answer for this but did you get this fixed. i had the alpine cde124xm since june 2011 and had xm activated for a year with no issues. however this sunday it started to happen i shut the car off it looses the signal and needs to be refreshed. How do i refresh xm radio ?

Go to Channel 0 and get your serial number. Then, make sure you have a good signal, leave radio on Channel 1 for 1/2 hours after calling 1-800-XM-RADIO and ask they to refresh your radio. They will tell you how long to wait - okay?

Every time I get into my vehicle my XM radio will only play the Preview channel. I call and do a refresh and it will work. If I shut the vehicle off, Istart all over again. Any suggestions

Turn the radio off using the POWER button on the radio and turn it on with the POWER button on the radio as it tends to lose settings and it's brains if you turn it off an on with only the car and start the car with the radio automatically on. Use the Power button and it will solve many problems like this. Let me know how it works out for you.

ID 4Z9AB0MC activated 2 days ago. Cannot select channels. Thumbwheel only displays 3 channels, ch.0,1,247. When pre/dir is pressed and a channel is selected, the selected channel number flashes...

Use plug-in power supply and leave on channel 1. Call XM (1-800-XM-RADIO) and ask them to "refresh" your radio. WAIT 1/2 hour, then check your channels. Make sure you have a decent signal too (can hear Channel 1 okay) before you call XM for the 'refresh signal' for your new radio.

Xm radio installation in house

hi there..this will be like a walk in a park...first, in your home kit you should be having the ff: antenna, rca cable(audio cables), power adapter & docking station. We just have to 'placed the radio into the docking station' then we just have to plug in the ff cables into the xm receiver..we can start plugging in the rca cable(one ended connector) into the ' audio out ' of your xm radio...the other ends of the rca cables should be plug in into the 'audio in'(at the back/infront of your sound system)...plug in the antenna in the 'antenna out' of your xm( the antenna should be placed into a south facing window and not being block by tall trees and buildings outside)....plug in the power source and turn on the radio....if you got it right you should now be getting the prev.channels/emergency allerts...u can call xm to send a refresh for you to get the complete channels..or you can do it online by logging into www.refresh.xmradio.com(if the radio was already activated) if not, you have to call xm radio to activate it..enjoy listening to xm..Godbless..

MyFi FM Modulator Stopped Working?

hi there..there are few ways on installing xm into your car..you can use the FM Modulation that you're doing before..it goes like this...make sure that you're xm radio is turn off( with all the wirings unplug).....then, you just have to go on a blank channel(e.g 90.1) on your car radio...afterwhich, turn on your xm radio and go to MENU....and look for FM settings...and select the same frequency you have into your car radio...and just have to wait for 5 to 8 secs and you should be getting the prev. channels.....
IF: you're only getting prev. channels such as 1, 130 etc...you just have to call xm to send a refresh signal OR you can go to www.refresh.xmradio.com if you want to save more time...just type in your 8 digit radio I.D....

IF:
you're not getting the FM settings.....you just have to click the MENU and select the 'default settings/factory settings' then turn off/on your radio to save the changes...

i'm sure it'll work nowq at this time....Godbless!

That will be a problem with the XM box you connected to it, call xm see if thay can help, the radio is just liike a screen for the XM nothing more the box controlls all of it.

XM reciever FM transmitter problem

hi Mr.Frazier....is the xm radio hardwired installed? if it's a yes you have to go to a professional(bestbuy, retailers) to have the connection check.. the problem is not within the xm radio..it's on how it was installed or set up...

If the radio was not built..well, that's much better we just have to check the audio connection from you're xm to fm radio (make sure to check if what band it is connected..such as AUX,CD etc.) if there's a sound but you're only getting preview channels..refresh must be send on the radio...you can call xm to ask for that OR do it online at www.refresh.xmradio.com and type in your 8 digit radio I.D just have to follow the activation instruction faithfully...Godbless!

No XM radio detected when I toggle through my sources... also no FM reception I just got a new JVC KD-DV4200 in dash stereo and a Terk XMD1000 receiver and the Terk JVC adaptor. I have to reset my JVC unit every day because I lose XM reception. In fact, my unit stops recognizing the Terk unit completely. When I toggle through my sources with the source button, it just toggles back and forth between FM and CD mode. However, no FM stations are picking up at all either. Very strange. After I reset the JVC stereo, everything works fine again for a little while. But only for a little while. Has anyone encountered this problem before?
