Hello,
One day while watching t.v. (Phillips 60pw9363) my son said the t.v. made a loud popping noise and the picture went bad. I did a bit of online research and narrowed the problem down to probably being the ic chips (stk392-180). I replaced both and could now align the red but the blue convergence still doesn't move. How can I tell which is which? I would like to just replace the blue ic chip but there doesn't seem to be any indication on the board to tell them apart. Am I on the right track here or am I totally off track? Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Philip
Thats the DPTV 335 series chassis when the IC blows it will usually take out 1 or 2 6.8 ohm resistors along with it. Look at the resistors right next to the ICs you will notice 1 or 2 with a little discoloration in the middle replace those and your set should be back to working just fine. Let me know if you need more help. These resistors are easy to spoy they all look alike and shouldnt have any bands on them they will be stamped 6R8 ohm 1W J

Hi Slinteriors,
Thanks for the help. It is much appreciated. I took out the board and looked around the IC chips for a discolored resistor. None of them look discolored and I couldn't find any one with 6R8 ohm 1WJ on it. I have taken pictures of the area around the two IC chips. Do you have an email I could send them to? Maybe you could specify which ones I should look at.
Kind Regards,
Philip
Same TV here - no popping noise but I have a sideways hourglass with some color distortion. Husband was able to adjust the red convergence to fix the color but we still have a black hourglass distortion. Can you help?
