No display on monitor when turning computer on

Standby Mode b> When a monitor detects no video signal from the computer, it assumes that you have turned the computer off and enters standby mode to reduce power consumption. Dell and HP monitors display an amber light when in standby mode. The status light on an Apple monitor blinks slowly. Incorrect Power Supply Some monitors such as certain Apple Cinema and Studio displays use external power adapters. Because different power adapters may have similar connectors, these monitors are designed to detect when an incorrect power supply is connected and blink the status LED rather than attempting to turn on. In the case of an Apple display, the LED blinks in an alternating short and long pattern. b> Backlight Failure b> A flat panel LCD display has an LED or fluorescent backlight that illuminates the pixels and makes it possible to see the contents of the screen. If the backlight fails and requires replacement, the monitor is unable to display any information. In some cases, you may be able to resolve this issue by turning the monitor and computer off, disconnecting and reseating all cables. If the monitor still has a backlight issue, it requires professional service.

Press FN + F4 to toggle the display between the Notebook display and
Projector

We can further isolate the issue by connecting an external monitor to the notebook. If the display is fine with the external monitor, this clearly indicates that the issue is related to the LCD screen. Otherwise, it is due to the some other internal hardware.

You may follow these steps to connect the notebook to an external monitor.

1. Turn Off Computer.
2. Connect the monitor cable from the monitor to the monitor port on
the rear of the computer.
3. Connect the monitor to a power source and turn it on.
4. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

It should do exactly that, since that is what information that your computer is sending to the monitor. When it is *NOT* connected,

and it should start to display some text, as the computer starts.

Also, try connecting the monitor to a different computer (desktop/laptop) to see if the monitor works at all.

The Problem may be due to the defective inverter unit inside the monitor. Dry to resolder if any dry joint on the inverter PCB or replace the inverter board.

1. Ensure the video cable is connected (and connected to the correct video port).
2. Turn off the monitor using the monitor's power button and then restart the monitor.
3. Cycle the power on the monitor as follows:
4. Turn off the monitor. The power light on the monitor should be off. Leave the computer turned on.
5. Unplug the power cord.
6. Wait 5 seconds.
7. Plug in the power cord.
8. Press the power button on the monitor to turn on the monitor. One of two things happens:
   1. The image from the computer displays on the monitor and you can use the computer again. This indicates that the monitor was unable to detect that the computer had awakened from suspend mode. Turn the monitor off when it is not being used or disable suspend mode. For some computers, updating the BIOS corrects these types of suspend problems.
   2. The power light on the monitor comes on but the screen displays one of the messages again. The monitor is not receiving a video signal from the computer that it can detect and use. Continue using these steps to adjust the Windows display resolution to the Monitor's native (default) resolution
   3. Connect the monitor to another computer that you know is working to determine if the monitor should be serviced or replaced:
      • If the monitor displays an image from another computer, you know that the monitor works. Troubleshoot the video connection and graphics adapter on the computer.
      • If the monitor remain blank when connected to another computer, the monitor signal processing hardware may be bad. The monitor should be repaired or replaced.
