This is not the typical bulb replacement question for the Advantium 120, SCA 1001HSS model. Most of those questions are referring to some little haolgen bulb near the front of the unit that I never even realized was there. My issue is the large interior compartment buld in the top center of the compartment taht runs parallel to the 500w halogen bulb. This is the one that lights up the entire compartment when the door is opened and also when the unit is in standard microwave function. It looks like it is a tube-style bulb about 7" long. To access it would be about that same as replacing the 500w halogen bulb, I would guess. When I talked w/ GE and had a certified technician come out to the house, he had absolutely no idea what bulb I was referring to. (He also wanted to charge $176.00 to replace that $3.95 halogen bulb, so here's where GE itself comes into question). Please tell me if this is something that can be done on a DIY basis. Thanks.
You are describing the little bulb in the front. The speedcook light is a different bulb

Advantium 120 Oven, SCA1000:
When the door is open or regular microwave is in use, no light comes on. When using Speedcook, the light cycles on.
The owner's manual only has instructions for changing the exterior light.
Where is it located and can it be replaced by me or does it require a service call?
I cannot figure a way to access the bulb that lights up the inside compartment when the microwave is in use, or open.
