Bought washer and dryer about a year and a half ago, currently out of 1 year warranty. Over the last month on spin cycle the whole washer shakes violently, with pressure on front seems to lessen, but will not go away, I tried shifting clothes on inside, no change, it worked fine up to this point. I also checked the level both horizontally and depth, adjusted feet, but no change. With lid slightly open I can see the inner tank appears off balance. Sears wants $260 just to come out for inspection, any suggestions before I make the call. thanks for the help

THERE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WASHER ONE ON EACH SIDE THE LOOK LIKE MINI PLASTIC SHOCK ABSORBERS THIS CAN MAKE THE DRUM UNBALANCED AND BANG AROUND ALSO HAVE YOU MADE SSURE ALL WASHER FEET ARE ON THE FLOOR... GOOD LUCK

check to make sure it is sitting level on the floor and one leg adjuster hasnt backed in making it shake. But even when you stick cloths in evenly they can bunch up during cycles.
Sounds to me like the Water Pump is bad. Hopefully if your machine is less than a year old you can get it fixed for free, if you bought it new it will have a 12 month warranty on it. If not you can always buy the manual for your washer and try to fix it yourself.
Hello, I too bought one of these washers(WSSH300G1WW). After about one year of operation i noticed that the low spin cycle was making noise so look at it and it was just making noise and not spinning. canceled the cycle restarted the machine but this time set the spin speed to high instead of low, it works on high. im guessing its the clutch in the machine that is faulty and really cant affoard to fix at this time. The thing is i liked to use low spin cause the thing would shake violently on high even with a small load. So now when it spins or i start the machine i make sure theres nothing close that its shaking will cause to fall and break. I also bought the matching dryer (dsxh47eg1ww) it too has problems, the bearings that hold the front of the drum up are going out, thing is i dont over load it and it seems that they went out or started to go out very early as my clothes were getting caught inbetween the drum and the dryer 2 months after i bought it. Im 42 years old so i remember when we had REAL washer and dryers. When quality was revered by companies and consumers. Those old machines ran for years (maybe even decades) without problems, replace a belt from time to time. Now days your lucky to get five years out of an appliance. I know these ones arent going to see 5 years. their about 2 years old and im ready to go find some 1970 model year washer and dryer, rebuild, give a custom paint job to call them retro.
