    To Basti.

No. no error lights on. It simply just wont copy.

Further to my DX 4000 not photocopying, I should add that there are no error lights on but that when I try to use it, the paper loads as normal (gets grabbed and pulled about half way down) but then virtually stops. It makes printing noises but the paper doesn't really move.

If I let this go on for about 5 mins the paper may move a half inch or so and when ejected will show a tiny square of poor print on the top left side - usually in colour although the doc was black and white. Aaaaagh!

I' ve done all your suggestions including the nozzle check - no probs there. Think you may well be right about the wiring. That makes sense but unfortunately I am no sparky so I will have to leave it at that. It doesn't respond to swearing or thumping either !

Thanks for trying. Although we didn't make it this time, it is good to know there are guys like yourself out there willing to lend a hand. Thanks indeed and for the Fixya site. Andycandy.

Sorry I'm so late replying. Been a bit tied up. It is out of guaruntee unfortunately, but no harm in trying I guess. Yup, I am in the UK, and say thanks again for trying. All power to u.

    Cheers, Andycandy.

Basti, if you r still there....

Problem fixed. Turned out that a family member had accidentally pressed the top of the two middle buttons and not known it. This put the machine into photo mode (10 x 15 or the UK 4 x 6 inch). This is the small button with the image of the portrait photo beside it. My stepson put it right in seconds. How to feel a prat.......

Anyhow, there it is for what it's worth. Thanks again. Andycandy.

Thats interesting, check for obstruction inside the printer and try to do a selftest in which it will print a nozzle check pattern, chances are there is a faulty wiring that is why its not accepting commands when copying something. try to turn off printer and unnplug it from power supply then plug it back on a different socket or power outlet,
try copying again.

Scanner function does not appear to work. All

i would say possibly you are missing out on something..because if the other functions particularly photocopying are working then this should work..as in if the photocopying function works then the scanner is ok cause basically in photocopying the machine scans then prints... perhaps check whether you are correctly following procedure to scan..most hp all in ones have a button on them that you press and it automatically initiates scanning and simultaneously the software on the pc is initiated..try this,if not then try reinstalling the hp software..hope this helps..regards

Can i use my DCP 130C machine for photocopying? for small business. meaning iwill frequently use my machine for photocopying. would it be okey? What could be a posible problem in the future if there's any

You may use this a copier but usually, all in one printers used as copier take a long time to produce print outs. It isn't as robust as It usually scans the pages first (duration is the same as scanning a document) then prints it out (duration is the same as printing a document from a PC).

In my experience with our multifunction printer, a single page can be photocopied in about 45 seconds to 1 minute. It isn't as robust as photocopying machines.

Photocopier prints red

You might be running low on black ink and it's not an item when you print from your computer because the settings you are calling for are different. The computer asks you if you want to print normal...to best, etc.

Photocopying a book

yes, there is a button for book form.

it will either be in additional functions or duplex mode.

when copying leave book open on glass it will scan the first page then scan the other page. you can have it on two different sheets or one double sided sheet.

Good luck.

p.s.: it should be in the user manual also if you have it.
