Flatscreen Monitor I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop. Would I be able to hook up a larger flatscreen to it and use that instead of the laptop screen?

Right click on the volume tab in the taskbar in the far right and then click on playback devices. Check all of the devices and click set defualt and then try. Make sure you aux cable is plugged into the right port. Also mae sure all of the colors match on the tv to the cables.

You need hook up your old monitor back and set the PC video resolution to 1024 × 768 @ 60Hz which is the native/max resolution of the E15T4, remove the old Dell monitor and connect your E15T4.
You are getting out of range because your PC video resolution is too high for the E15T4 to display.

I assume you would switch the TV's source to VGA. Is that correct?

Connect it the same way you did before, with the VGA cable. Then hit Fn + F8 on your keyboard, to switch the signal from your laptop screen to the VGA cable. Then select VGA as your source on your TV as you did before.

If that does not work, please post and tell us what type of television you have.

If you're referring to a flatscreen LCD monitor you need to have the appropriate connectors on the model of monitor you're using.

the LCD backlight has failed, you will need to replace the LCD assy (about $200)

click on start>control pannal>adobe gamma> set ur

If you can see faint images on the LCD and you can connect an exrternal monitor and get a normal display, the issue is a failed LCD backlight

If it showed a pinkish tint on the screen before it went out it could be the backlite. If you can see a faint screen when you turn the room lights out it chuld be the inverter. Inverters are cheap ... a used one for around $8 on ebay. Try that first. Make sure that you buy the EXACT model that is presently in your laptop.

have a 17'' starlogic flatscreen monitor and i opened a game and it went to white screen and stayed there.
