Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50K Digital Camera Logo

Another memory card error issue. My FZ50 always comes up, "MEMORY CARD ERROR PLEASE CHECK THE CARD". I've tried 3 different SD cards and get the same result. All 3 cards work fine on my other digital camera. Reformatting the card is impossible because you can't get past the above message.

SOURCE: I can't get my camera (Lumix DMC-FZ50) to take

Were these cards from another camera and now you want to start using them in the Lumix? If so, you must format the card in the Lumix to get it to work. This will erase the card so download any pics first.

Testimonial: "One thing I forgot to include was that I can't format the card in the Lumix camera because whenever I turn it on all the camera will display is the "MEMORY CARD ERROR..." message, ie I can't do anything else. Thanks for your help. Any other suggestions?"

Hi
Please check your cameras capability to support larger sized SD cards. It may not support those two SD cards. Also check for slide locks on the side of the cards and slide them to 'open' before inserting.

Hope it helps.Thanks!

Hello,

I've been encountering this issue. The problem may come from the card reader or the card holder. If possible, use a different card holder and of problem persists, try a different card reader or test on another computer.

Hope this helps!!

Error on formating new memory card in camera error says memory card is full brand new card i tried 2 in faact same error kodak c310

The lever on your SD card might be turned the wrong way so the SD card is reading protective.
Please turn the lever and try again.

The SD card might not be supported by the model: Your camera Memory card support is SD/MMC up to 2 Gigabyte and SDHC up to 8 Gigabyte

The SD card might not be faulty, try another card, since the camera could give you a message like the one you're experiencing.
Try with a different SD card that is supported by the camera.

Memory card error

If the card works on OTHER devices, and you've formatted the cards... the only conclusion you can really have is that it's a problem with the camera. Repair or replace.

Format Memory Card Error

The problem with the c350 is that it does not accept a memory card higher than 1GB! I found that out through the Kodak website and not in the User's Guide!
