Problems, Problems Lets see if I can get some help with this one. My Laptop display is not working at all, totally black. On top of that the Cd/Dvd rom drive is not working either. What could be the problem. I have tried the recommended fixes in the troubleshooting guide, but nothing has worked yet. Help...

    The laptop is a little over a year old. It has not been dropped. How do i find out if i'm missing a connection?

Hello there,  mu first question would be, "how old is the laptop" followed by "did it never dropped?"
after this my first guess is that there is a missing connection.
if not your motherboard is done and you need to change the laptop.

    you don't unless you open it.


    now the thing is this: if it's a decent laptop it should have a port that allows you to connect your laptop to second bigger screen.


    if the bigger screen doesn't work either the it's your motherboard that screwed up. but if this work, then there might be a chance that it's only a connection problem. in order to solve this though, you will have to bring it by a specialist unless you have some electronic expertise.


    I hope I have been helpful at least to identify the problem...
