Not seeming to read SD map Data Card anymore

I have seen this before, if you turn off the unit while its saving data such as your last position or your last destination, especially if you shut it down while its still navigating. the card data can get corrupted. the only way to fix this is to reload the map data. Fine Digital is out of business so I created a DVD that has the last issue of map data and firmware for these units. you can find this dvd on ebay by searching for finedrive dvd. its way cheaper than what fine digital used to sell upgrade dvds for ( $150)

Fine Digital FineDrive 400 GPS Receiver Problem

The company went bankrupt. I get a "unable to read map data error". Called for over a month, sent email after email. Finally contacted a company that fixes Finedrives and they told me the company (Fine Digital) is out of business and will not warranty the unit...ten months old at the time. The company who fixes these machines said that it would be cheaper to buy a new(different company) gps system compared to having them fix the Finedrive 400.

oops, are you holding down the home button?, that is usually the way to get to wince. if not, you will need to re-load the firmware to restore the system. you can find this in the finedigitalusa site...
