HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop computer will not stay powered on and boot up. The Power on and RAM light is lit but the HDD indicator blinks twice and shuts off after 45 seconds. Then the laptop resets and attempts to power up again, ending with the same results.

Restart the notebook, press F10 and check if you see the BIOS screen or not.
If you see the BIOS screen and if the notebook does not restart in BIOS then this could not be a hardware issue.
But if you do not see the BIOS screen, then perform the steps below :
1. Disconnect the ac adapter and remove the battery from the notebook.
2. press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
3. replace the battery and connect the ac adapter
4. turn On the notebook and check
If the issue persists then remove and replace the memory modules of the notebook and check it.
If the issue still persists then it could be a hardware issue and your notebook needs to be serviced.

The power button don't turn on the laptop

The RAM is not connected properly or it may have become damaged
you know it is useless to power up a battery powered computer without RAM so it blinks twice to tell you the situation then stays off.

try replacing the RAM with a new one

My HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop will not stay powered on! Will only stay powered on for about 20 seconds. I 'air dusted ' all fans and vents.

The HP DV series are known for bad motherboards and yours sounds to have the symptom indicating a failed motherboard. You can try different ram and see if thats it or remove the hard drive and power it on and see if it shuts down without it.If it still shuts off its most likely the infamous DV series curse

My HP Pavilion Entertainment Laptop won't turn on. The power indicator light blinks briefly when I press the power button, but it does not boot up.

Does the power indicator lit permenantly? If it glows for a short time and then goes off, then it is due to a faulty component on the motherboard and u have nothing to do if you are not a laptop technician. Make a reply for this.

The computer will start up but the screen will be blank

Try plugging in a regular computer monitor, if that works then you will need to open it up and check the screen's connection. if you get now lights from the regular monitor then you will need to check you ram/memory to see if it is connected properly.

I have an HP Pavilion 9000 that was working just fine. We powered it down for the day and when we went to start it up the next day it would not start. Blue light is lit where power supply plugs into...

That a nice computer you have there. Based on your description, my guess is you have a bad power supply.
About a $300 fix if you send back to HP. Which is what I had to do a while back.

My hp dv9000 will not boot. when power is turned on all leds light up screen stays black. hard drive and fan can not be heard. restarts after 10 seconds with no error message or flashing lights.

Remove the hdd cover from the bottom and make sure it is completely seated and connected. If the hdd is properly installed and it still will not boot, try entering the CMOS Setup. If you can enter setup you most likely have a bad hdd. If you can't you need to take or send the pc to a repair shop.
