Your inverter has died. They can be replaced quickly and easily at any laptop repair center or you could do it yourself if you are keen to get inside of your screen.

If you want to get into the screen, you will still need to find a replacement inverter anyway.

Hope that helps.. Just post back if you need more info.

Can I switch out the screen to my hp g60 535 dx laptop with a screen from an hp dv6000 laptop

That will be impossible. The screen from the HP Pavilion G60-535dx is a 15.6 CCFL LCD while the one of the DV6000 is 15.4.

I suggest buying a new screen for the DV6000 if you need to. Or go online and trade the screen of the HP G60 and use the fund acquired to get a screen for the DV6000.

Hope this helps.

HP Pavillion dv5-1113us laptop lcd screen backlight malfunction. My LCD screen is dark. There is no illuminated light to view browser, desktop, backgrond etc... Laptop boots up and runs but no screen...

I had same problem with HP DV6000. I ordered a new backlight on Ebay from Hong Kong cost $10 found a video on youtube on how to do it by typing in "replacing dv6000 backlight" apart from soldering a couple of wires was pretty straight forward and took less than an hour. Shop had quoted $400 to do this and fine is now working like new again. Good luck from Scott and please dont forget to vote

Laptop keeps cutting off seems to get hot fast

Hi:
The DV6000 series of notebooks have a problem with motherboard issues, to include WiFi Failure, video problems, and other issues. You can do your own research on this, but it is pretty widespread, to the dv2000, dv6000, and dv9000. Many HP owners were offered enhanced warranties, and at the minimum, received a discount on repair.

See what you can do, as it won't get any better for you.

Laptop Pavillion DV6188eu doesn't start up

From what you are describing, the motherboard has failed. I would however like you to try a couple of things though. First remove the hard drive and see if the computer will go to the BIOS screen. If it does not, then the Motherboard has definately died. If you can get to the BIOS, then you might consider a hard drive failure, or your windows installation is so corrupt, it is causing this problem. I would however lean toward a bad MOBO....seems this model, the DV6000 and the DV9000 have serious cooling issues and tend to burn their mobos up. HP recently started updating the BIOS files for these models so the fans and processor run more efficiently to keep the laptop cooler.

Broken HP Pavillon dV6000

Explain, (endured a hit). Electrical or physical?
For the hard drive (a clicking sound means a spindle problem). Suggest you get a new drive if it's no longer under warranty. Once you install a new drive you can slave your old bad drive into the system & pull your data off it before it stops working.

As for the laptop it's better off with a pro.
