I bought a new cartridge for black ink and just installed it. I know I installed it properly. I also ran all the cleaning options to eliminate any clogs, etc. My colour ink is dried out but the cartridge is still in place and I'm only printing "grayscale" as per print options.Still, the printer will not print.

I thought my ink cartridges ran out so i bought new 1s. The colour 1 is workin fine but the black isnt working! Ive taken the cartridge holder out, cleaned the heads, and still nothing! U can see that the colour ink is coming through, but the black doesnt. Ive tried everything i can think of & still nothing! Do i need to buy a new cartridge holder?

Same thing. New black cartridge fitted and doesn't work. Tried all the usual cleansings to no effect. Colour OK.

I use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean heads that are blocked. The problem with most of the smartbase range is the slightest amount of downtime and the heads clog really easily. Running the cleaning program will not eliminate a clog inside the head if it has dried sufficiently. Failing that you may need a new head.

Why is my Epson Printer not Printing Black?

What is the model of your Epson printer? You can choose Comment and add the model number or name there.

Since I have no idea what model of Epson printer you have, I also have no idea if your printer just is a black ink printer or if it can print in more than just black.

Some options regarding your problem:
* Your printer has run dry of black ink and needs a new black ink cartridge or an ink refill.
* One or more of the color inks for your printer have run dry and you need to replace the color ink cartridges with new ones or refill the color ink reservoirs.

If your printer is meant to print in both black and other colors (magenta, cyan, yellow), then, you need to know that the 3 colors are used and mixed with the black ink to make black print. So, for a color printer, one needs to have all 4 ink cartridges filled with adequate ink.

Why doesn't my black ink work in my Epson WorkForce 600 series after replacing the black ink cartridge?

The Epson printer may only use genuine ink cartridges which contain a chip so that you cannot fill the cartridge with ink or use non genuine ink cartridges.

OR

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Leaking blank ink

take a lint free cloth and then clean the copper contacts of the ink cartridge.. if it does not work then try with a different black ink and then contact HP for replacement of the black ink if the ink cartridge is in warranty

Black ink cartridge holder not working , can not print with black ink cartridge holder, when i use the colored ink holder printer works ok

The problem you are describing is with the black ( BC-10 ) print head and not with the printer.

1. Check your black ink tank and be sure it is not dry.

2. Run the printer through one DEEP cleaning cycle and see if that improves the print.

If your black ink tank is full, and the deep cleaning cycle produces no improvement, you will need to replace the BC-10 print head.

Does not print black colour

Is it nothing black? Try this. Move cartridge to parking position. Whith only black ink tank instlaled, **** the ink from the outlet pipe of head cleaning mechanic. If there is ink, the black head is not clog. Then try to print. If it's still no black ink printing, may be the electricity of black head is lost contact. so, the micro pump can't work good.
