Question about Samsung Yepp YP-F1Z MP3 Player

YP-F1Z DEAD ??? ANY WAY TO REVIVE email [email protected]

MY YP-F1ZW/XAC WORKED WONDERFULY ALL YEAR EVEN DOWNLOADED A 52 CHAPTER TALKING BOOK FROM LIBRARY.
Yesterday I finaly loaded Samsung software and driver disk. I was going to use it to back up the mp3's and book (158 mag 52 chapter. When I accessed the player with the software it scaned the memory and listed all the songs and chapters. I did a SORT list. Shut down the software , rebooted my PC for an unrelated issue with a web page. Now the player will not turn on . Holding power on it lights up with BARS as usual and says
LOADING and immediatly shuts off. Tried reset button, dissassembled and unpluged the battery leads , reset no battery , pluged back in and pwr button still only flashes loading and shuts down 2 seconds. Pluging usb into pc no help as it just says charging , or fully charged DISCONECTED and usb symbol in clock try appears /disappears every 3/4 seconds while not actualy loding usb interface of massstorage driver so cannot acces it that way either.

i've gone 1 step further... my YP-F1 is completely bricked.... pressing the button to turn it on does nothing, plugging it into the computer in recovery mode and attempting to re-instal firmware gives me some sort of semaphore error and i can't mount drive or anything

try fuses, first, for 10cents.
first know how it works.

does the cluster flash when turns dead? on corners 4.??>?>?>
the 2 fuses are F13 and F6 in the JB (cab box = JB)

the cluster has 2 lamps, left and right.
if cluster is dead, that is a bad switch

Maual to safehouse burglar alarm Model 49-307

Not sure about model 49-307, but it's probably the same as modle 49-537...
1) hit *
2) enter old code (which after power-on reset is the factory default of 1234)
3) hit * again
4) enter your new 4 digit code
5) hit * one last time

Your new 4 digit code should now work to arm and disarm it.
If you enter any wrong digits hit the # key to clear the error, and re-enter the code.

Hello This is Bill MacLean [email protected] See my earlier post on same problem of dead yp-f and also my reply to member wanting to replace battery. As you can see I had tried pretty well everything when I stumbled on a solution that worked for mine. Follow my directions in other post to remove Battery. Reassemble without
battery and hook up to usb/miniplug to computer.Unit is now powered only by computer usp and the battery is not interfering with
computer now recoginizing the unit. Reformat and reload the O/S
that came with the unit or download the firmware upgrader from Samsung. When you have access transfer some songs and unhook from compuer (remeber o use usb tray icon to stop unit as I think this is what crashed mine) Dissamble unit and replace battery and turn on. E-mail me if this works for yours of if it was a one time fluke with mine.
