Brought a Coles $259 Nu-tec DVD/Tv combo got it home and set it up with a indoor digital antener. all works but I can't get any channel 9 stations no matter how many times I rescan channels?

Yes, Go into menu and make sure you have at least rabbit ears hooked up and preferably a HDTV Antenna. If not, a Large paper clip will work in a pinch if you have one, but it won't pick up all channels. Give that a try and then go into the menu under search digital channels then, after you find a few, see what the signal strength is and go from there. Let me know how it works out for you and please give me a good rating. I am trying to do this to make some cash as well. Good day and happy HDTV ING. JAY

You need a digital to analog convertor box to recieve the digital signal.

All UHF+VHF signals will be digital starting in June.

The channel you use depends on how you have the vcr/dvd player wired to it. If you used a co-axial wire, then your tv should be on channel 3. If you used RCA wires, then you will have a button, either on the front of the tv, on the remote, or both that says "input" or "source". Pressing this will change the TV to the rca connectors. Try this and let me know if it helps :)

TV is searching for over the air channels. Select in the main menu to go from over the air to cable channels and you should be fine.

Let's assume this is a digital TV, not one of the old analog home theaters. First hook up the antenna. Then go into the TV's setup menu. These vary by model in their choices and the names they use. Find the section of the menu that deals with "input" or "home." You're looking for a choice of "cable" and "antenna." Choose "antenna." There will also be a selection that tells the TV to "scan" for channels. That's what you want it to do. Typically this takes anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. Once the TV has found all the channels available, you can exit the menu. From then on it's a simple matter of using your remote to choose the input you want to watch at that time: TV (from the antenna); Cable (if you have a box plugged into another input); DVD etc.

A note on antennas: indoor ones tend to have VERY limited range. They will get reliable reception only on local stations with high-power transmitters. My brother lives in Maine, miles away from the nearest tower, and his indoor got just one station consistently, but with lots of dropouts. A $35 outdoor one got four, three of which were reliable. He bought a better one for about $90 and now he gets 7 or 8, all but one of them consistently.

Just buy one universal remote control, which have setup codes for your brand combo. You can get this detail by the code list accompanied with the remote control. Brand isn't matter.

I can't get FOX on my converter box--what is the channel # for FOX?

It could be your antenna. Some retailers sold consumers UHF-only outdoor antennas and not VHF/UHF combo antennas. Other outdoor antennas may not have a power boost included for the VHF antennas (rabbit ears). The new DTV signals from stations are now broadcasting in lower power signals than before June 12.

Outdoor Antenna

KMSP/FOX 9 and KARE 11 both broadcast on VHF signals. WCCO and KSTP broadcast on UHF signals. You will need a VHF/UHF outdoor antenna to pick up KMSP and KARE 11 and also get all the other channels.

Indoor Antenna

Check your antenna to make sure it's a UHF/VHF antenna. You may need an indoor antenna that has rabbit ears -- that is the best way to get KMSP/FOX 9 reception on your TV. Your antenna should have a power boost to amplify the VHF signal if you are having trouble getting FOX 9 or KARE 11.

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

Can't recorder digital broadcast

Hi,if your vcr is an analog machine then you will not get a signal.If you have a seperate digital box then you can connect this via a scart lead to av2 on the vcr.Best thing though is to buy a digital dvd recorder.hope this is of some help.jamie

Sansui TV's come from the factory set for CABLE. If this is a HDLCDVD320, you will have to go into the menu to change the signal type to AIR, then run the automatic search to program in your channels. Their free customer service line is 800 289 0980.

Lost digital signal on analog TV

You do not need to use an RF modulator if you have a LG DR787T. It will output the program on channel 3 or channel 4. If you have another recording machine, I think you may need to re-scan for the stations.
It is also possible that you need to use the remote to switch from the analog (66 only?) stations to the digital stations.
If using a 787, press HOME, select TV & press ENTER, the channel list menu appears. With the highlight on the top of the list, use the < and > arrow keys to select from: TV, DTV, Favorite, or ALL. This lets your pick whether you want to see digital, analog, favorites with the "HEAR" symbol, or all stations.

I think that there is a selection on the Panny that works much like the TV/VCR selection on a videotape recorder. Your machine is receiving and decoding digital stations, as you stated you can see them on the menu screen, but is not passing them through to your TV set for viewing. To use the Panny as a tuner for live TV shows, or actually, programs currently airing, you have to tune the TV to channel 3 or 4, or, if using the Red/White/Yellow connectors, the proper video input selection, AND turn the Panasonic on, and have it sending the programs it is receiving out on the antenna connection or the video/audio out (RWYellow) connections. It is really a matter of selecting, on the Panasonic, whether it passes through the antenna signals, or the digital signals that is is receiving.
