Hello, i have a suggestion for this kind of problem. Try to do a power drain. First you have to power off the computer, remove the battery and ac adapter and anything that is plugged on to your computer. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. Put the battery back and the ac adapter, try to power it on and test it. If still doesnt work try to uninstall and re install the driver for your mousepad. Hope this helps! goodluck!!!

Acer ASPIRE 5732Z overheats and then shuts down what can I do?

Find out what is causing it to overheat. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix the problem.

Three causes of overheatting.

1) Dust - Dust inside the laptop. Dust clogging the fans and vents. Dust around the cpu and heatsink. Take a can of compressed air and blow out the dust.

2). A fan not working. Replace the fan.

3). The Thermal Paste around the CPU and Heatsink has dried up or is too thin to keep the unit cool. Put on a fresh coat of Thermal Paste.

You could just purchase a Laptop Cooling Pad that has 3 fans on it, and plugs into the usb port of the laptop and the laptop sits on it to keep cool. They are less than $20 at Tiger Direct. When the site comes up just type: Laptop Cooling Pad in the white search box at the top of the webpage then click GO. Sort the returned results by Price Low to High.

Below is a link to one I use for repairs when I get a hot laptop for $12.99

The mouse pad is not working, how can i make it work?

Try and restore the PC to an earlier restore point. open control panel> restore /back and choose the best point- date of installation.
If there is no result then there can be hardware issues, dry wipe the mouse touch pads.
If not use an external mouse - usb type- or a wireless type is the best option.

Acer aspire 5732z MOUSE PAD IS FROZEN.

Yes, there is a button right at the top with a picture of a hand. Sort of a pointing finger action. That will enable and disable touchpad. It is near the power button I believe

My Acer 5732Z running under windows 7 has a keyboard & mouse prob

First thing to try to uinstall and reinstall the software for your touchpad. Go to Acer and get the latest drivers and or software. Sometimes, just removing the driver and letting windows find it again in device manager is enough to fix it. hopes this helps.

Normally though. keyboard and touchpad are seperate entities. which made me think of the motherboard as that is the only constant between the 2 but, if your touchpad is buggy maybe it is causing issues elsewhere.

My laptop's touchpad do not work at all. With an external mouse it's ok. I have windows seven and Ubuntu 9.10, and the pb is the same for both. My laptop is a acer aspire 5732z g Thanks.

On Acer 5732Z there is a button that disables the touch pad next to the power button [on the left]. The icon is a rectangle with a hand pointing on it.
press the button to toggle the touch pad on and off.

Touch pad mouse will not move

There will be a button above the touch pad or using function key to disable it. try both and find out which is the prob. Some drivers may not installed properly. Run the touchpad driver in administrator mode and if you are having the xp driver set to xp sp3 compatible mode.
