Pixelation of TV channels via Settop box

I have a TEAC HDR1600T. The picture was perfect until just recently the picture on all channels has just become pixelated. I know the arial connection is OK as I have connected anothe tv with HD tuner built in to the connection and that works fine.

Pixelation is caused by poor signal strength. Check the signal strength in the setup section. Unfortunately some boxes and TVs don't handle poor signal as well as others. It might be worthwhile trying a signal amplifier

Hi, Your set top box (PVR) is running on channel 3 or 4. Go to menu and sellect a source TV, DVD
Note: Do not connect more than 1 set of cables to tv or you may damage something.
TV > box connect RCA cable or HDMI not both.
Set top box > connect RCA or HDMI Not both.
audio devices > TV connect RCA or HDMI not both.

I have a HDR1600T now only 14months old. The problem it that all channels are pixellating and the sound is popping. Throw it in the bin and get another ?

Hi, before you bin it, get your aerial system tested as it sounds like you are dealing with a marginal signal. veify this with another set top box to prove a point if you have access to one

How to connect settop box to tv with no avs

You will have 2 UHF plugs on your set top box.. One for input (aerial) and 1 for output (TV). Connect your main aerial to set top box UHF input and connect an Output UHF lead from set top box to TV. Next switch on set top box and retune tv on a spare channel until you get set top box channels (good idea to switch on menu on set top box so you know you are tuned into set top signal )

Pixelation

This model has been known for problems with the Hyper module but the picture would be affected with any input source.HD or not.The cable converter box and the cable signal are the only culprits for pixilation.Pixalation is the result of missing digital information via signal. If it is only appears on the HD signal I would suspect the cable signal or the converter box.I assume you are using your component input on your TV or the HDMI input. As a technician I would suspect the cable box or cable for pixalation.

Go to http://vk3khb.gak.net.au/atv/chnlchrt.html#TV_Table

I went there and checked the details vs those appearing on my STB. Went through the manual channel search and changed the frequency to those on the above website. Now all channels work perfectly. I only bought this STB because my last one froze, it appears this one doesn't have the best auto search facility but with a bit of tinkering it will work for you!

I'm getting pixelating on channel 7 on my HDR1600T settop box/PVR. All other channels are ok

99% OF THE TIME IT'S THE SIGNAL SOURCE AND NOT THE TV. HAVE THE CABLES AND SOURCE CHECKED.

GODD LUCK, BIG IRISH.
