Turn off the main power to the dishwasher.

I am assuming you are getting F1 error code flashing (if your drawers have LCD display) or the LEDs are flashing if you have intergrated drawers.

The flood switch is located at the base of the drawer tub. You will have to either extend the drawers out fully or take them out depending on the amount of water that would have collected at the base of the tubs. Get some towels and dry the base out. You may also need a hair dryer.

Once the flood switch dries off the drawer should work ok when you turn back the power.

The causes of the flood switch trriggering is either too much foam in detergent (use recommended detergent) or leak in water in or drain pipe.

Please remember to rate the solution if it helps or post a comment if not.

Fisher & Paykel DD24DCTB6 top drawer beeps instead of starting

It is very likely the two problems are not linked. Use small quantities of power detergent (Finish works best) to avoid foaming. The foaming usually triggers flood switch and shuts dishwasher. If the beeping is constant then most likely the flood switch is triggered. But if you get one or 2 beeps when you press start, then it is likely some sensor in drawer is faulty. Usually the drawer close switch is not working.

Dishwasher beeping and displaying F1 on screen. HELP!!

F1 error means that the flood switch has been activated. To reset the flood switch you need to remove the bottom dish drawer to be able to access the reset buttons. To remove the drawer you press in the rectangle buttons and slide them back under the drawer, they are located right behind the front panel at the bottom of the drawer. It may help to have someone help hold the drawer for you. Once they are slid back all the way place the bottom drawer on the floor to the left side of the washer as you look at it. This will give you the access you need. Lie down on the floor so you can see in the bottom. There you will see a white coloured plastic box on each side, one is for the top drawer the other is for the bottom drawer. Make sure the power is off to the dishwasher. Place your finger underneath the box and you will feel a small pin/lever. This is attached to the magnetic flood switch and resets it when you click it one way and then the other. Once you have done this turn the machine back on before you put in the bottom drawer as if it does not work then you will need to activate it maybe a couple of times. Once the F1 alarm disappears you are good to go. Place the drawer back in the opposite way to removal. Slide one rack forward and rest the drawer on it. Then slide the other side out and it will snap lock into position.

Flood switch activated, intermittent beeping, motor will not turn off

Please confirm if it is a single or a double drawer.

How do you know the flood switch is activated? Do you have a display on your dishwasher and what is it showing? If no display then which lights if any on the panel are on?

Motor will not run if flood switch is activated in the fisher paykel drawer dishwwasher.

Fisher Paykel Dish Drawer flood alert switch

Switch the main power off and on after a short time. If the error does not go away then you have water collection in the base of the dishwasher under the drawer.

Take the bottom drawer out and try to use a couple of towels to dry out the base plus use a hair dryer. (make sure the power is turned off at the mains switch). This should dry out the flood switch.

Now about the reason for water collection - could be kink in drain hose, water leak from drawer seal, foaming due to incorrect detergent.

You have not mentioned if the error is occuring in both drawers or just one.

Hi Both drawers show error F1 flashing beeping with rinse light on and both pumps run after power is applied to machine

F1 error indicates flood switch in base has activated, meaning machine has leaked. This causes machine to drain continously, and can only be stopped by switching off power. Not easy to fix if you don't have experience- bottom drawer has to be removed to access flood switch, then machine needs to be test run and checked for leaks. Best to call the professionals!!

F1 is a flood code meaning excessive amounts of water have collected on the bottom catch basin. If a flood condition is detected, both draws will activate the drain motors and flash F1. Remove the bottom drawer and dry the catch basin.
There are three possible scenarios; 1. Defective lid motor(s)...Each drawer has two lid motors that pull the lid tight to the drawer when the cycle is started. (this was very common on early models) 2. Something too tall was placed in the drawer preventing the lid from closing completely. OR 3. (only seen this once) the drain hose developed a crack causing water to leak only when draining. Hope this helps....
