Tv turns on & off.

Hi I hope someone on here can help me as this problem is driving me nuts.
I have a trio HDTV approx 8 months old. When the tv is on free to air channels it turns itself on & off, some days it doesnt do it at all and others it does it approx every 20 seconds, it only stays off for about 10 seconds before coming back on. I dont have this problem if the tv is on pay television, or when watching a dvd always works fine. Just on free to air channels. I have had a tv repairman out here who said it wasnt the aerial, it was the tv, it has been back to trio twice, they said they replaced everything inside, and tested it for 2 days and it worked fine. As soon as i got it home it is doing it again!.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Mystee

If you have the set connected to an outside antenna, or directly to a cable service, this may be a grounding issue between the TV and the antenna ground.

This answer is a speculation based on some past experience.

If there is any buildup or intermittancy of a ground leakage from the AC supply back up through the tuner and on to the TV, and then to the antenna or cable service, it may trip some protection circuits that cause a shut down condition.

TV on/off

How long is your TV on before it turns off? Check the fans and make sure they are all working. The TV may be shutting off due to overheating if a fan quit working.

If you think the lamp is still good maybe try replacing the lamp ballast.

Sony e55a20 tries to turn on then flashes pwr light in sets of 6

Really sorry to say but you need a tv repair man. This unit has something wrong internally. Also there is usually a reset button on the back of the tv. This is your only other option. try resetting the tv, if there is not button on the back hold the power button for at least 1 minute.

Tv picture is jumping

Unfortunately, JVC service manuals are not usually available outside of Authorized service centers. That being said, anyone that services TVs should have seen similar symptoms on other sets and should be able to "fix" this one even without a schematic. Call around. In the meantime, I'll look into this a bit more.

Sony Grand Wega KDF-E050A10

Authorized sony repair center told me the problem was the Q Box. Ever heard of this? Part runs about 300 bucks. TV is out of warrenty as it is 2 years old. Do you think it is worth it to fight sony and get them to replace the part or just fix the TV?

Part Number is A1167541A, service rep called it a Q Box in the diag, however the web says its the b block assmy.

read this if you think it's the same problem
