Verticle lines across top of screen

if retrace lines at top of picture the issue is in the vertical circuit--usually a bad filter cap and or the output chip (most of the caps that cause that are 220 uf or 330 uf and connected directly to one pin on the chip.

If retrace lines are across entire screen---likely the master screen control on the Flyback is set too high--causes excessive brightness and the retrace lines.

Sounds like the verticle circuit is failing a honest shop will take of this for you around 180-230 if you want to do yourself youll need a iron and some filters and an verticle ic

Put your screen saver to black..let the screen saver come on if lines are there you need a new lcd.....if lines are not there uninstalll all graphics drivers reboot your laptop and reinstall this will fix it if not your lcd screen is on its way out.....NEVER CLOSE YOUR LAPTOP AND STAND ON IT THAT IS JUST SILLY THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE I MEAN COME ON HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET YES PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE LCD WILL REMOVE THE LINES FOR A WHILE BUT THEY WILL COME BACK.

LINE ACROSS THE MIDDLE IS THE VERTICLE CIRCUIT--COULD BE A LOOSE CONNECTION-TRY TO TAP GENTLY ON TOP OF SET AND SEE IF YOU SEE THE PICTURE ACTUALLY JUMP TO FULL RASTER,,IF SO LOOSE CONNECTIONS IN VERTICLE CIRCUIT---THE OTHER PROBLEMS WOULD BE ACTUALLY PARTS BAD IN CIRCUIT --IC,CAPS ETC... TUNICA

I would suspect that the vertical output transistor is getting ready to go.

It could be 2 things...
1. Bad filter capacitor on Verticle B+ supply.

2. Bad Screen voltage Capacitor.

Most likely it's due to the LCD panel assy failure. It may cost you as much as to buy a new tv. The LCD panel is very expensive in retail market.

This is a very easy fix. Your cable box is not grounded correctly. To fix this you need a AC Plug adapter. This will change your TV ac plug from a 3 wire to a 2 wire. This may sound funny, but trust me on this. I have fix a lot of TV in NY doing just this.

I would suspect defective filter capacitors in the sweep circuits as well as the power supply source voltages.

sounds like you have a vertical sweep problem. Where the fault lies cpuld be the vertical output IC the verticle b+ feed, could be the capacitors in the vertical circuit?? Your gonna need to troubleshoot thr vrtical circuit if your not a tech thin my advise is to take the set to a pro for sn est. Good Luck
