The MSDC option in digital cameras stands for Mass Storage Device Class. It is one of the many subclasses of the USB computer peripheral connection protocol.
This class as implemented in digital cameras, allows a connection between a computer and a digital camera by showing the digital camera, when connected to the computer, as a removable disk drive, temporarily attached to the computer. Pictures taken are retrieved using either cut and paste, copy and paste or drag and drop from the digital camera's picture folder onto a real hard drive or other writeable media available in the computer.

MSDC stands for Mass Storage Device. You get it when your Camera is getting Charged either with the adapter or when connected to the Computer. You cannot take any pictures while the Camera is in MSDC mode. To resume taking pictures, just disconnect the Camera from the power supply or your USB port.

SOURCE: Blue Screen MSDC

You should only get that screen when it's charging on the wall charger or when it is hooked up to your computer via the USB cord.

SOURCE: vivitar 8025 comes up msdc when i connect usb lead to my computer

It's supposed to do that, informing you that it's in mass storage mode. Once connected you control it from the computer, not the camera.

The blue MSDC screen simply tells you that the camera is connected to the computer. To use the camera, disconnect it from the computer.
