The colors are wrong when printed and the print hardly shows. Can not calibrate nor clean the printer head. I have the same problem after cleaning the printer head with alcohol patches. I may need to replace printer head because the printer used to print perfect. Now after know one can help me and can't find where to get another printer head without buying another printer, I am thinking of doing so, but not another Kodak because you can't seem to answer my prblem. I didn't have a problem buying it from you, but having problems from you on how to solve the problem. Very dissapointed with Kodak. Sorry, It seems you wanted my money and now it's my problem. Not very professional busy from a well known company like yourself. From reading some of the complaints, it sounds like you are losing potential customers but not until you get their money at least once. So I suppose that's all that matters to you.Not the customers coming back, but selling a product once and getting their money then. But soon, you'll run out of potential customers because of all the competition, and you're loosing millions with your business tactics. Not a happy camper and not satisfied to say the least. Assistance would be nice, but I don't expect it. Have a great day and sleep well.

Not sure w/ this one, but is it blinking too fast on printer, the check color and black ink cartridges? and if yes what is the color of the light, is it yellow or red, and is the on and off lights, flashing?
-black and color blinking fast - install printhead
-black and color blinking slow - no cartridges installed
-on and off blinking black and color steady lights, calibrate

-hope this helps, or else contact kodak
-xoxo

oh.. my mistake.. I think you are having a 5100.. could be that you have a 5300 or 5500 printer..
    try this one,..

remove everything from printer, cartridges and printhead
-turn printer on and off or unplug printer
    -check what message will appear
-if it's the same, put the printhead back in the printer( make sure that it will snap in, look for the sticker on the center)

-close printer, check what message will appear
-if it's the same, repeat the following process for several times
-if not doing, could be that you have a problem on printhead
-might as well will fall on the hands of manufacturer..

    -hope this helps...:)

Calibration ok but still prints blank pages

If the print tests are good, the only thing preventing your printer from printing is the print drivers. Download the latest correct drivers from Kodak's website and install them.

The red light has come on to replace the ink cartridg, i only use black ink then i tried to reset and the red light is still on and it will not print. the colour cartridges are about 3 years old???????...

Check status monitor? See difference of chip reach ink out and not recognized. Reset chip that ink level reach ink out. Also check chip connector at ink tank and at chip itself. Plug ink tank securely. Check status monitor again. If still not resolved, try to use anither chip.

Epson C46, changed coloured ink, won't print flashing red light

If the red light is flashing by itself, it means the printer thinks a cartridge is low on ink. Have a look at what the Status Monitor thinks (right click the printer Icon in the bottom Right-Hand corner and select Ink Monitor). This will show which cartridge it is. If it's the new colour cartridge, it means the cartridge is faulty (then replace it), or it is a refilled cartridge that hasn't had it's chip reset to "full". For this you will need a chip resetter, available on E-Bay very cheaply. If it's the black cartridge then replace it.

If both green and red lights are flashing, it usually means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink "protection" counter has exceeded its limit. You can restore your printer to a working condition immediately by using the SSC utility - download from:

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

Install it, and double click the ssc printer icon in the bottom right corner (System Tray). Choose Configuration and set your printer type (C4x), then close the ssc window. Now right click the ssc icon in the sytem tray and choose Protection Counter. You should see that the current count is above the limit; then choose reset to set it to zero. You will need to fib about having changed the waste ink pads! Turn the printer off then back on again. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation.

However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer.

If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, report back and I will provide further help. It is a pretty simple job once someone explains how to get the case apart!
