Encore modem 00064F45D2A5

My name is Becky. I work at Qwest communications and I have a customer that is wanting to use her Encore modem with our broadband. I am showing the broadband is set up, but I do not know how to help the customer to program the modem. Her modem was working before with a different provider. So I am assuming that she has already installed the drivers. Can you help me with this?

A Router(which can include a Modem as part of it) has an IP address. Opening a Browser at that address will get its Login page up. Logging in will show its MENU / Up time/ main page where you set it up. eg type in your new ISP details / Login username password. the long number you quote is NOT a name of a router model(it a MAC address of a Pro-Nets product). you can look here for an example login for one of their products a WR850RD but have no clue what actual product you have.. "https://www.cleancss.com/router-default/PRO-NETS/WR850RD" which some kind techy person will show the IP address and login details for you. However they are usually written on the LABEL stuck to the ROUTER.

SOURCE: access home network remotely via zyxel modem

you will not be able to access from one network to another even if you are on the same workgroup. However, you can setup VPN on both side. the other is to use commercial remote software. i.e.: vnc, mypc, teamviewer, etc.... they don't need anything else, but do require setup on both machine. This is much easier, don't need any permission from the network administrator, or company permission.

this is not a problem with ur PC or router this could be in the Filter or splitter that ur ISP gave you, what i would do is call ur ISP and have them run a line test that could be the reason

www.speakeasy.net go to the bottom you should see whats my speed or test ur speed click on that and select a server closest to you and it will run a speed test up and download speed

SOURCE: settings saved do not match requirements on this computer

Go into network connections on the laptop and select the Wireless Network. Go into properties and find the TCP/IP settings and ensure that the IP address setting is set to Automatic and the DNS settings also. If you have wireless security set on the router you will have to set that up on the laptop as well.

"An error occurred during communication

As the name implies this is a DNS error. Try replacing the default DNS with IP addresses from the OpenDNS project, which supplies free DNS. Here are a couple to try: 208.67.222.222 or/and 208.67.220.220

Qwest DSL / Issues with Motorola 3347

The modem overheats due to lack of ventilation. I fixed mine first with Ice packs then a small twelve volt fan and some inexpensive heat sinks glued to the top of the two processor chips.

You need to cool the modem down!

Want to use Dlink DI-514 with Qwest modem to hardwire 2 computers

Believe it or not, Actiontec modems from Qwest are setup as a router already (even though ports are missing from it). You should use a switch instead of another router. Otherwise you will have to configure the DI-514 to act as a switch rather than a router. This is done by assigning a new starting IP address into your DI-514. By default both routers use 192.168.0.1 as the default. You will have to plug the DI-514 seperately into a computer (to take it off the network) and assign a new starting IP address for the DI-514 such as 10.150.1.1 for example. Then you will be able to get it work. I would strongly recommend using a switch instead and turn the wireless on the modem itself (this is why the modem is the router). It will save you some headaches if the power goes out.

D-link 614+ will not connect with Qwest M1000 modem

Well what everybody really doesnt know is that if Qwest provided you with a modem named Actiontech that modem has the same ip address of router so just change routers ip address to 172.16.0.1 and subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 and the problem should be solved.Im a product specialist for dlink.

Ip problem

It is common to have this as the default IP to connect to equipment.

I suggest you unplug your modem while you set up your router. You can also change the default IP for the router while in the settings. be sure to remember the new IP or you will have to do a factory reset to get it back to default

From a server I don't go through now

Is your new server also a DSL server? If you're now using a different service (e.g. cable or satellite) then the Qwest modem will not work at all and is basically an expensive brick.
Otherwise...
Your best bet is to contact your new ISP and find out. Some local ISPs (particularly in Montana) are essentially resellers for Qwest or another national company. If this is the case, the tech support from that company can likely walk you through inputting your new credentials.
If the new company doesn't use Qwest, it will be difficult. From what I've seen of Qwest's modems, they're heavily customized towards Qwest's services. But it is possible, you just need to talk to your ISP.
