Picture settings i have just had sky tv installed and its going through my samsung le328r wich i have just bought. when veiwing sk tv i change the contrast brightness and the colour a bit to get the best picture i like but after veiwing sky for 30 mins my picture settings change back to the factory settings why is this?

The code you are looking for is 1340. I have the same TV and my sky volume hasnt worked since I bought it, (9 months ago).. After spending an age on the SKY forum with no luck, I simply googled (Sky remote codes) and clicked on the 1st site, it's skyremotecodes.co.uk then Samsung 6000 series.... It told me the correct code and gave me clear instructions...... I hope this helps someone else.

go to menu and find connection settings see if it is cable or air please select cable...

if already done but no change maybe your TV is not hd..select air only..

if you go into the samsung menu and change the auto view to off then on your HD box im asuming your with sky you can press you services, 4, picture setting then ensure this is on 16:9 job DONE

I install a lot of magic eyes etc.

You have checked that the magic eye lights up when it is connected directly into the sky box. So your eye is working correctly.

the next step I would take is with your sky remote in your main room. press SERVICES, 4, 0,1, SELECT go to RF settings and check the rf channel and make sure the power is on. Take a mental note of the channel number.

Now go into the room where the link is feeding. Turn on the TV and go to channel number 6 press your MENU button and then go down to setup. go across to manual install and then down to the channel number type in what you retrieved from you box ie rf channel and then type it in and STORE.

If you go into your main room and just put the normal tv guide on ie blue screen. then check that your getting the sky into the other room. IF you are then great it just needed tuning in. IF not I would remake the coax connectors. as there may be a bit of copper braid touching the centre core. once this is done your sky should be on all you need to do now is put the eye back on. Once you have done this the red light should appear on your magic eye. if not go to your main box and follow the first instructions I gave you and turn the power off on the RF and then save and then go back in and turn it back on and save.

Not sure if you still have this issue, but i have just bought this TV & also use sky (not + or HD)...

I got myself a Monster Cable Home Theatre surge protection unit from comet, basically it helps filter out all the background interference (picture & sound) & helps boost the signal sent to the TV..

I use a gold plated scart lead from the sky box to the TV & the picture is spot on.......i've not noticed any ghosting/pixeling etc & am well impressed...

The unit came with a top end HDMI cable & cost £135 (bit excessive you may think, but to buy the unit & cable seperate would cost £250!!) + the cable is a 'cable for life', so you can get a free updated cable as technology progresses :-)

My sky signal was always at half power (you can view this from the sky menu options) & now its almost full signal

This is likely to be caused by the changing of the screen mode between ads and or programs, by your TV.

If so, changing the Sky output to 16:9 will fix it.

Press [Services]

Select option 4 - System Setup

Select option 1 - Picture Settings

Change "Location 1" TV setting to 16:9 (This will make the Sky box handle any changes and give you a permanent widescreen output to your TV. This is the recommended setting for widescreen TVs, but sadly, few Sky installers bother to do it.

You can also change "Location 2" if you have a second widescreen TV connected in another room.

Whilst in this menu change the Video Output to RGB from PAL (If not set already) RGB gives a much more stable picture (particularly on the menu system)

Go to Save new settings and press [Select]

Exit the menu system, and you problem should be solved.

GO ONTO YOUR SKY SETTINGS AND ADJUST FOR 16,9 THAT SHOULD CURE YOUR PROBLEM

On the sky box do the following.

Check scart to tv is in the correct socket marked TV.
Try pressing services
then system setup
then picture settings.
Then try switching scart control to on or off.
If this sorts it great. If it doesnt check scart lead has all pins wired & not only A few.

I had the same problem. It's caused by the picture setting on your Sky box. Go ibto Services, select Picture Settings and set the mode to PAL not RGB.
