Progressive scan mode is used by DVD players to artificially scale standard resolution DVDs to HD resolution, usually 720i. Is your set capable of receiving HD resolution? If not, that is probably why you are getting the blue screen.
Hi jjbitt. I found this in another post. This is what another expert say "With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS.."
1) Remove any DVD that may be inside 2) Press AND Hold Stop Button (on front of Player) for 5 or more seconds 3) All Done - This will have reset player back to Interlaced Mode and you can now see your DVD!
press the set up button on the remote...the word "set up" should appear on the unit. then press and hold the stop button for 5 seconds...problem solved.
I have a zenith dvd/vcr receiver model LH-C245M i accidentally put it on progressive scan mode and appears on on my TV screen how can i get back to normal viewing? can you help me with this one Please. Thank you hoping for your great response.
Hold the stop button for about 10 seconds. The other thing to do is move the video out cable at the back of the DVD to one of the component outs (there are three of them one for each color rgb) you will be able to read the menu again. turn off progressive scan and reconnect the video cable to dvd out
With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS.
Our DVD was stuck on Progressive Scan Mode for over 1 year, this fixed it. I had tried the press stop, press stop and hold while playing a movie, but not while there was no disk.
Try it & Good Luck!!!!!!!!
