Call URC and they will send you a free battery. Worth a try. I will keep looking.

BTW: Are there any part numbers on the battery you have now?

I send an email to URC and this is what they said:

Dear Dean,

We appreciate you contacting Universal Remote Control, Inc and your continued patronage. A replacement MX-3000 battery costs $45.00 you can purchase a replacement battery from our service dept. You may contact our service department directly via email at [email protected] or by contacting us at the phone number that follows. If there are any further questions or comments please feel free to contact the Universal Remote Control, Inc family at 1 (800) 901-0800, Monday thru Friday between 9 am to 6 pm EST or via our website select contact us.

My understanding from forum discussions is that Universal will send you replacement batteries for this unit free of charge. Ask to speak with tech support, and they should be able to help you.

Mx3000 does not charge when in cradle. nothing

I agree with ceocass, however if you find that the contacts are clean and you have made certain that the charging cradle is plugged in you may simply need to replace the battery.
Please note that the replacement batteries for the MX3000 Universal Remote Control, p/n's Powercard PC046067-H & PC036067V3 have been discontinued.
TheBatteryStore.com now carries an alternative battery, p/n PL056067V3 which is a 2,100 mAh typical capacity battery that can be used as a replacement.
Please confirm that the connector type is the same as your battery prior to placing your order. We only carry this battery with the Version 3 connector which has a built in pressure release tab.

MX3000 Battery replacement

My company carries a replacement battery for the MX3000. The p/n for our replacement is PC036067-(V1 or V3 suffix) You can reach me via email at [email protected] and I will be happy to help you.
There are three important considerations concerning this battery.
1) Please note that the original version, supplied by Universal Remote p/n PC046067-H for the MX-3000, was discontinued by the battery manufacturer. The PC046067-H had a typical capacity of 1800 mah. My company has worked with the manufacturer to provide a replacement that has a typical capacity of 1400 mah but is identical in size to the original although slightly thinner.
2) Universal Remote used two different connectors on the PC046067-H with no deviation of p/n. We carry our replacement with both connectors (our p/ns use suffix V1 and V3 to differentiate). V1 is a simple white plug and V3 is different in that it has pressure tab built in.
