Hello. I've had the same problem...I resolved it leaving some cd or dvd inside for ever.

To put into a dvd, look at the picture and the service manual

How can you access the rubber belt when the tray is closed? I Can't ! I had the...

1)just open the player
2)remove the rubber belt connecting the dc motor
3)you can open the disc tray now
4)if there are any dust particles or obstacles in the door way just clear them up by using the cloth(dry cloth preferred)
5)if you have any greasy material like vaseline, oil, etc then just put that in the door for easy movement of the disc tray

6)if needed change the rubber belt which is connecting the dc motor

7) just reconnect the rubber belt again and then just fit all screws that s all

what s more your player s disc tray will start ejecting like the previous how you were using..

any doubts you can reply me
i am always here to assist you

Go Video DV 2150 - DVD door won't open at all. You can hear a mechanism working behind the closed door, but nothing happens and the door remains shut. Any advice??

There is a small belt under the loading tray which would have gone slack ( loose ) and the sound you hear is it slipping on the motor pulley. If you are confident you can remove the mechanism and turn it upside down and access this belt. Dismantle only if you can get the spare belt or your efforts will be in vain.

Phillips PET 706 portable DVD player. Won't play DVD's.

1. The pin, right side in the back of the dvd-tray-lid, which triggers the switch on the motherboard of the dvd player is broken.

2. Not impossible, but unlikely: the proper switch on the motherboard is broken, corroded or just full of dust and does not close the circuit.

Solution to 1.: you need a new lid with intact pin, or glue an improvised pin on place of the broken one.

Solution to 2.: take the whole player apart (not difficult at all), while not disconnecting any cables, so you can now test the trigger switch (momentary switch) manually and see if something happens (on screen appears loading)
ATTENTION: BEFORE pressing the SWITCH: cover the laser lens with a piece of paper - do not look into it - it can damage your eyes!!!
If nothing happens by manually triggering, try to spray some electronic cleaner (fat and oil free) into that switch, while pressing it continously. If still nothing happens, disconnect battery, DC, de-solder that switch and look at mouser.com or any other electronic parts dealer to get a MOMENTARY switch with exact identical dimensions, etc.
Solder it in, everything should be perfect now.
Good Luck

DVD TRAY KEEPS ON OPENING AND CLOSING CONTINOUSLY

Hi, I have exactly the same thing. Happened before but went away when I got bored trying to fix it. This time I phoned LG support and they said take it back to Comet (they have bought out their servicing). End of conversation. Polite but firm.
Appalling support via their websites, appalling products. Never again.

DVD tray makes noise when it rotates

This noise can be casued by two things:

1) The tray is not completely in the loaded position and the "clamper" is rubbing. Replace the loading belt and the loading sequence will complete and the noise should stop.

2) The "CD table" that is part of the spindle motor assembly has slipped a bit. This will make the CD/DVD ride too low and strike the lower tray support. This will require that the table be "re-aligned" to the proper height which may not be possible on your model without special measurement equipment. The height is critical to proper operation of the unit.

Try replacing the load belt first and report your results.

Thanks,
Dan

I had the same problem - unplug first- it is easy to undo all 6 small screws - open it up -plug in and then you can give it a little help to open it. It worked for me, BUT now it will open and close but not play the dvd.
