My Lincoln Continental 2000 Model oil light came on engine stopped after 25 feet. would not restart even though oil full. The car started the next day, but had a rattling sound at the top of the motor

Oil light is rather important it goes out if oil pressure is good comes on if oil pressure is low when it comes on damage is expected with continued operation like wearing of main bearings and pistons and cylinders can lead to a engine rebuild

Low oil pressure indicator at low rpms (idle) '97 olds V8

Low pressure when at idle, after the engine has warmed up and the oil has thinned, indicates that the oil pump is worn and needs to be replaced.

Can the tensioner make the chain to be loose inside the engine an cause it to make noise an show sign of oil on the dashboard?

A loose timing chain tensioner will not cause the oil lamp to light. The noise you are hearing is most likely valve noise due to oil starvation. The oil light comes on when the oil pressure is too low to be safe for the engine. Most people believe it is to tell you the oil level is low. A low oil level can cause low oil pressure is the oil is below the sump, but low oil is not the cause of the light - low oil pressure is. This can be due to a number of things, such as a bad oil pump, faulty bypass regulator at the oil filter, loose sump pipe connection, or even an oil gallery plug that comes out internal to the engine. You need to stop using the vehicle immediately and have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical guage to determine if the problem is the oil ressure or the sensor that lights the light. The chain tensioner being loose CAN cause noise, and that itself is an issue that should be fixed, as in many vehicles a loose chain can jump time, or jam and break, and since many cars have interference engines, either of these scenarios can cause severe internal damage to the engine.

Oil light comes on and is dinging.

The oil light has nothing to do will oil level, but rather oil PRESSURE. If the engine oil is full and there is no rattling or banging noises in the engine, chances are the oil pressure sending unit is bad. If noises accompany the light, then shut down the engine and troubleshooting the engines internal lubrication system.

Engine oil pressure light came on. I checked oil levels and added 1/2 ltr. Light went out and didn't come back on. tune up to be done on Tuesday next week. I suspect it might be the oil filter. Should...

If your oil level is full, light is off and no abnormal engine noises, if should be ok to drive to the shop. If light does come on, stop the engine. I would also have the shop check your oil pressure with a manual gauge, to determine the exact oil pressure reading. This could save you from major engine failure due to low oil pressure. I hope this helps.

I was going through a drive through and my oil light came on and was beeping. My oil level is fine. What's the problem.

The oil light comes on when there is low pressure not because there is low oil. If the engine wasn't making any ticking or clunking noises when the light cam on I would bet that an oil pressure switch will take care of the problem. If the engine had make a lot of noise and/or the light never wnet ou I would then suspect that there is a problem with the lubrication system.

If you post an engine size I'll let you know where the switch is. Typically they are near the oil filter and have a green connector.

2002 corolla (now 91000 miles) makes rattling sound

Thats good that you are getting a second opinion. A Toyota dealer will be able to check it and see what the noise may be. See what they come up with. I dont think a worn timing chain or guides would cause a low oil pressure problem. But, if it does indeed have low oil pressure, that is a serious problem.
