Hello, I have a Garmin 2730 that I just got. When I plug in the USB cable to my computer from the GPS to download the drivers, it will not recognize that it is pluged in. I keep getting a prompt to plug in the USB cable while it is. I tried 3 different cables so I know that it isn't that or my computer. Is the GPS defective?

Maybe you need to install the USB driver.
Connect the USB cable directly to a USB port on the computer.
Go to garmin website www.garmin.com and download the latest USB drivers. After installing the latest USB drivers reboot the computer. Now attach the Garmin to the computer using USB cable. You should see Found new Hardware on your computer.
