Damaged screen on olympus u700 camera

the lens canot stay out and focusing,due to the lens units are in a bad condition. it is normal bad condition for olympus machine especially for the olympus u700 machine.

Check the LCD screen of the camera. You should get a message when you first plug it in to select the usb type. highlight PC and press ok. The screen should display one moment please then go off. Then the camera should be recognized by the computer.

I recently purchased the same camera (Olympus T-100) and it would do the same thing. Would lock up with a black blank screen periodically. Now, for no reason the screen has turned white and doesn't display anything at all. I went to Olympus' website with hope to download the software for it but there isn't any software for this model. I sent this problem to Olympus for an answer but I think I am just screwed, unless someone has a solution.

lens is out of adjustment , try slapping the camera in your palm as your powering up, it might take a few times so be patient that should reset lens

Sounds like a repair issue with the image processing chip in the camera. You may want to call Olympus Customer Service to discuss repair options and pricing. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3

hi, as you said, you got your camera repaired in olympus.If your camera is in guarantee period, istrongly suggest to go to olympus again.I also think as per our experience that virus can't affect the menu pad or arrow keys. I think the delicate circuit attached with mode sw ond arrow keys will be damaged. so go to olympus now. good luck...
