No one can hear me on my 8700 bb, it works fine with the head set but otherwise the mic must be shot. You can hear the tones of the keypad but nothing goes through the mic. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have checked the mute button and have disconnected the battery hoping that would help, but no luck. Can it be serviced or are you better off to just go and buy another one? How long do these things last anyway? error 507 means that the operating system on the handheld is missing.
1) Download the latest version of the handheld os from your carrier's web site 2) Execute the downloaded file 3) Locate and delete VENDOR.XML from your PC's C: drive 4) Connect the BB and start Desktop Manager
In this case you need to re-instal the software of you're blackberry Handheld but still if it is not working please walk into the service center to chack the Hardware parts of Bluetooth.
Your Blackberry 8700 has a older version of bluetooth which does not allow file transfer. That is the reason your phone does not receive anything. The bluetooth version on your phone is designed for hands free bluetooth devices only.
The smart thing to do before you return the phone is to do a wipe handheld. You can find the wipe handheld option if you go to your menu -> options -> security options -> general settings. Here you can press the blackberry key and choos wipe handheld. When you do a wipe handheld all data on the phone is erased and the phone is ready for the new user. Make sure that you choose delete 3rd party applications also.
Error 507 on a blackberry means no operating system is found. You can try to restore your Blackberry to factory settings by using a Java loader found here: http://www.blackberryhowto.com/content.php?article.32 You will not be able to save the data on your phone. Try this at your own risk and ask someone for help if you are unsure about the process. Hope that helped, -WN
