My Polaroid DVD player - Model # PDM0822BD player shows that a disc is loading however the disc does not rotate. It then stops saying "loading" and says NO DISC. I've had it for about 5 years and I love this player. It does this with the battery attached and also with the power attached. Any advice?

Your unit has two laser optics, a low power tracking optic and a high power reading optic. The low power one is dusty and can't see the tracks details. You need a cleaning disc which has tiny brushes to clean the optic lenses.

if you have a dvd lens cleaner tried to clean it first. if still no disc error, look for the spindle motor if it is rotating while you are playing with a disc. if not, check for motor worn out at this time you will need to remove the cover to access the internal part.

Either a mechanism problem or a problem with the Optical unit inside (optical pickup) being dirty or bad.

Tries to play more than one DVD disc.Tries to play many DVD disc should be original DVD disc ok no DVD+R copying disc ok.If ur are still getting signal just saying loading signal awhile than say no disc show up, and u did playing it with many dvd original disc.Than the DVD player laser eye reader could be ditry.Tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy a DVD disc set that said like DVD players lasers eyes cleaners.Used it as directions said,if u still getting the same result mean ur DVD player laser eye reader it is dead,not worth repairing the DVD player if the DVD player laser eye reader it it dead,because the laser eye reader it is 90% important to the DVD player unit and the cost of it by replacing it will cost the same as a new DVD player unit.

make sure there is no streak on your dvd, and make sure the lids closd well. Try to use another dvd media

DVDs will not load / play... problem just started... TV approx 14 months old. Recently DVD was working and the TV just "SHUTOFF"?

I turn it on and all i get is a blue screen. It will loading disc and say bad disc.

i sent mine back for this same reason they repared it damaging it and scratching it in the process. it was the optical senser they said (this means the lazer in the dvd player. SAeems everyone that buys this **** has this trouble. I am getting a lawyer and will demand my money back....

It could depend on the type of media you're using. I noticed that certain types of self made dvd's don't play in this player.
