Hi - it is 12 yrs old so parts may not be available for it.

If its a door problem, then its really a door latch switch or switches that has failed. Time involved in removing case, then switches then checking them all then finding replacements at ?? cost is uneconomic.
Please consider getting a new machine - probably use less power, have more features and work a darn sight better than this old one.

KitchenAid Superba KEMC308KSS0 Microwave oven acting like we're having repeated powerline brown-outs, but we're not.

There is a huge capacitor inside microwaves, and that description sounds like it is starting to fail. There are smaller capacitors as well. It won't be a door switch, they work or they don't.

I had two Panasonic Commercial microwaves in a pub kitchen, one plain and one was a combination machine and both had drop down doors.

Turns on when door opened

There is an power interlock inside the oven that breaks the power connection to the magnetron when the door is open. Most likely, something is stopping the switch from opening.

Check for a small plastic probe on the door that may have broken off inside the oven keeping the circuit made. Otherwise, open the oven and see is some foreign object is keeping the connection made or if the interlock needs to be cleaned out so it can function.

Door open button won't work on KitchenAid microwave model YKCMS135H

Page 3 of the exploded view here shows the door open parts 24510L and 250201 (or 23551B if your full model number is YKCMS135HSS).

What look like part numbers seem to be reference numbers.

Microwave stopped working

Hello there and welcome to fixya
This is a fairly common issue with microwaves
Normally the issue that you are dealing with is that the dor switch has went bad or the electrical wiring may be getting loose so what i would do is first remove the outer shell of the microwavethen get to the door switch and find the wires that are going from it to the connection poing then make a note of where the wires are connected at then remove the wires and test using ohm meter set at the lowest setting you should be getting a ol reading when the door is open then shut the door and you should show a little bit of continuity when the door is shut something like 020 or something like that however if it does not move or the numbers are really high then it should be replaced ok
I have posted a link here for you to follow on how to test it and several other parts ok http://www.ApplianceRepairLesson.com

Kitchenaid superba combo. Microwave gives

HI, this is an indication of a failed door switch. When the switch fails, the control cannot recognize the closed door signal. Simply replacing the door latch mechanism will solve this issue.

Replace the door latch assembly, asap.

My microwave has stopped working and switched on suddenly!!

Sounds just like a bad door switch or door switch mount. Probably the upper one. Safety info, disassembly tips, and door switch test and replacement info are all available at our Web site. See http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
