SOURCE: apple ipod nano wont play the full song

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.

SOURCE: iPod nano wont play any songs at all

I don't know if you've already done this, but this sounds to me like a software issue on the IPOD.  I also have one of these, and have had to do the following at least once due to lock up problems.  Connect the IPOD to your computer, make SURE all the music you have on the IPOD is on your computer (because your IPOD is about to be wiped clean).  Then, in ITUNES under your IPOD (whatever you named it) on the main screen should be a RESTORE function. Click on that, and follow the directions - this will wipe your IPOD clean, and restore  all factory software and settings.  Reload your music, and try it then - this usually works for me! :)
Good luck wit the IPOD! :)

How to down load a song to my appleipod nano 2gb?

To download songs to iPod nano: m Simply connect iPod nano to your computer. If iPod nano is set to update automatically, the download begins. Important: The first time you connect iPod nano to a computer, a message asks if you want to transfer songs automatically. If you accept, all songs, audiobooks, and other items are deleted from iPod nano and replaced with the songs and other items from that computer. If you don’t accept, you can still download songs to iPod nano manually without deleting any of the songs already on iPod nano. While music is being downloaded from your computer to iPod nano, the iTunes status window shows progress, and the iPod nano icon in the Source list flashes red. When the download is complete, a message in iTunes says “iPod update is complete.” If you set iTunes to download music manually, you can reset it later to update iPod nano automatically. For more information, see “Updating iPod nano Manually” on page 22. To reset iTunes to update iPod nano automatically with all songs and playlists: 1 Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source list. 2 Click the Options button and click Music. 3 Select “Automatically update all songs and playlists.” The download begins automatically.

Nano shows song playing but nothing happens

Make sure your headphones are working properly by testing with your computer headphone jack.

Is the headphone port on the Nano loose?

Connect the Nano to your iPod dock and see if you can head audio through the docks headphone jack.

If the headphones work, and you can get audio out of the dock headphone port, then there is a problem with your Nanos headphone jack.

10sec play

try reseting it. then resyncing your ipod. to reset it, simply push the middle button down, and the menu button at the same time. a few seconds later and the ipod should reset. then sync the song that had the problem onto the ipod and see if it works. (no point in syncing all your songs becuase if reseting it doesnt work you wasted alot of time syncing songs for nothing)

best of luck : )

How can I add lyrics to iPod nano?

"iTunes 5: Adding lyrics to songs for iPod nano If you like to sing along with your tunes, iPod nano can display song lyrics right on its screen. Here's how to add lyrics to and view them on iPod nano. Entering lyrics In iTunes 5, select a favorite song. From the File menu, choose Get Info. Click Lyrics, then enter the words to the song in the text box. Click OK when finished. Copy the song to iPod nano. Viewing lyrics If you've entered song lyrics, you can view them at any time in iTunes 5. Just select the song, Get Info for the song, and then click Lyrics. If you want to view them on iPod nano, do this: On iPod nano, start playing any song to which you've added lyrics. Press the Center button repeatedly. The number of times depends on if you have artwork or not. Here's the order of things when you press the Center button: Play status > Scrubber > Album Art > Lyrics/Description > Rating If you don't have Album Art or Lyrics, then you'll just see the Rating Play status > Scrubber > Rating Lyrics should display correctly in most languages. If they do not, try removing any special characters in the Lyrics pane in iTunes, copy the song back to iPod nano, and try again. Note: Some types of files such as WAV and QuickTime files don't support lyrics, though you can convert WAV and QuickTime files into a format that would allow you to add lyrics such as AAC or MP3. "
