Display Screen I have had my ZEN V for 44 days. My display screen started to turn a dark red tint about four days ago. The screen is getting darker and darker. The music still palys. I bought mine at the GREAT Wal-Mart and they tell me that after 15 days I am S O L. This is a great little player, I just wish I could see what the hell is playing. Any ideas as to who I can contact to fix this?

My screen jst started having lines going up and down the screen. then after a day after charging it, i turned it on and it was jst completely blank... meaning it was completely dark. i cant see anything now. the music plays fine. the battery's fully charged. and i dont know whats wrong w/ it. i washed it in the washer a few weeks ago and it was perfectly fine. idk why it jst stopped showing the screen now.

same problem is happening to me at the moment. i've had it for about two years, but if you're experiencing the same problem...does that mean that age doesn't have anything to do with that? :S

    i think imma cry. [no music creates suffering - for me at least] DDD;

Creative is the one forcing Wal-Mart into a 15 day only exchange policy. The supposed reason is that they have people coming back to exchange when the one year warranty is just about up, not because the player is broke, but so they can upgrade to the latest model since theirs won't be in stock anymore. Wal-Mart help desk doesn't have the time to verify whether the player is broke or not.

So that forces you down the Creative RMA path. But if it is more than 60 days after your purchase, it's probably not worth it because when you do finally get an RMA, you have to send $25 non-refundable handling fee with your player to get it fixed. It's clearly not worth it for the low end players.

Dark line down the middle of my flat screen tv

Most LCD and PLASMA sets use two boards (some combine them into one board) that drive the Display Panel (the entire front screen unit) so I would suspect one of yours is bad.

The other unpleasant possible cause is where the left board is connected to the Display Panel (entire front screen unit) you have a problem inside that Display Panel and that is fatal as there is no way to get INSIDE the panel---it can cause both lines and a dark picture on one side of the screen.

Hi, can you help me out with a Sony KDL-32L4000. The TV works perfect but the screen or should I say the picture has a red tint on it from the middle of the screen to the bottom. What can this be. Please...

Hi.

Use different input cables and check using at list two different input devices (eg. a DVD and a receiver box or a playstation, and the internal tuner).

If the problem depends on the device connected or on the cable, then it is either cable, external device, or the terminal connection circuit in the TV, which in this model is integrated with the TV.

Before testing try doing a power reset by disconnecting TV power cord for five minutes.

If the lower part of the display has a red tint or if it is darker, and problem is none of the above, then the TV is defective.

If the lower part of the screen is reddish, and light is normal, then it is probably the main board. Try going to display settings and change from progressive scan to interlaced (eg from 1080p to 1080i, or to 740i). That may bypass the problem in case the fault is related to progressive scan logic circuits in PC board.
If the lower part of display is darker, then it is a back-light problem. In that case parts to be tested are inverter, psu, pc board and display.

Regards.

Ginko.

Red tint on Viewsonic P930b

Hello,

We do a lot of LCD monitor repairs and usually when you get the red tinted display it means the backlight tube is going out. This part is like a very small fluorescent tube just like in you office lamps. The tube is part of the display section and is very hard to replace. You can check the power supply first just to be sure. We have a dis-assembly/repair guide on our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm If you find any bad capacitors you can change them and check but I would be it is the backlight tubes, if so just replace the monitor.

Tv lcd screen got knocked know a red line and a dark patch is getting bigger across screen

You have damaged the LCD Display, the cost of those are close to the cost of a new set. One day the manufacturers will put a safety screen on the front like the older projection sets had to protect those screens. When I sell a lcd set I always recommend to the customer to have a piece of Plexiglas installed over the front, especially if it's for the kids room. Of coarse it's a DIY project.

Sanyo Tv color problem

I would check the green signal all the wat to the display screen to determine is this is a signal problem or a system short. I would recommend that you take this set to a qualified electronics technician
