How many GHz did the card call for to be compatable? Was Pentium D listed in the compatability list? Most of these cards will work with older processors, but double check to make sure before you buy them.

Bla bla worst thing will be that the grafic card will bottel neck itself and not because of cpu the fsb has to do about that but to instal just plug it in the pci-e slot should do a nice click but put your bare rist on the metal of the computer to ground yourself and remove all power so you dont get a shoking event

Depending on how new you are to this type of upgrade, this site may be helpful to you too (for the installation):

A good fit for you might be the BFG Nvidia GEforce 7600 GS OC (512 MB).

In games I see sometimes big black squares, and

BFG has a wonderful lifetime warranty. I would go to their website and file an RMA as your video card is bad

Nvidia geforce 8800 gts code 43 due to vista home premium

Well if you installed the correct drivers for your video card and have the proper power supply requirements, then the vertical lines you're getting most likely indicate that your video card is bad.

Try it in another computer if available, or get another video card.

run the onboard if you have one and go into the bios there's normally an option to choose what order to boot graphics devices eg. PCIE>IGP etc hope this helps.
