Usually it is because of dirt in the keyboard ... your key board is removable... you will find instructions on the www.support.hp.com ... be carefule when removing it as it is connected by one or two thin plastic ribbon cables ... after removing it you can turn it upside down and tap it to reomove the dirt ...the other method is to use compressed air cans for computers...

The USB ports have stopped working on my Dell inspiron 620, thus now I can't use my mouse or keyboard. How do I fix this problem?

Go to "Device Manager" and look if any yellow or red alerts are being displayed. You can get to "Device Manger" by clicking on your "Start" button, right click on "Computer" and select "Properties". It will be on the left side top of menu. If there are "Flags" click on them and see what the issue is. It might might be a corrupted software driver.

Blue screen lock out numbert9 on keyboard

Hard to say what the problem is, particularly without knowing what OS, what recent symptoms or changes to your system, etc.
For starters, see articles here and here. (Troubleshooting the startup process.) Refer to the instructions for the 0x0000007E System Thread Exception not handled that pertain to your OS.
Check the keyboard connection, try a different keyboard. Press F8 at startup and try Last known good configuration, or safe mode, and have a look at the event viewer to find out what kind of errors have recently been reported there. Etc, etc...depending...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

The rubber plug below the spacebar button is faulty. The button needs to be removed gently and the rubber plug below it which touches the board below should be cleaned. If this does not solve the issue the rubber plug below the button needs to be replaced. Its a common problem.

thanks and please do not forget to rate the solution.keep updated.

Dell SK-8115 USB Keyboard on none Dell PC Issues

Have you gone in and removed the usb drivers by doing the following.

1.) right click on my computer
2.) select properties
3.) Select Hardware tab
4.)Select device manager
Then remove all instances of usb that you can.
You may have to try this using just the mouse for navigation. Right click on usb item then select uninstall. Remove all the ones you can then reboot the computer. You may have to reboot a couple times
Then try the keyboard it should work no problem

Dell SK-8115 USB keyboard on non Dell PC

This model keyboard has an internal USB hub and Windows only sees the hub when booting. The solution is to get a generic USB keyboard and boot into Windows. Once Windows has loaded the HID drivers for the sk-8115 keyboard then this Dell keyboard will work from then on.
