During the boot process you will see on the screen to press delete to enter setup Press and hold delete during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart (note after you have loaded the operating system you must go back and change the first boot device to your hard drive)

Check the mounting screws on the cd burner,yes you have to remove the keyboard and speakers,and check the two visible mounting scews.....I rescently bought a used presario and discovered the yo-yo didn't mount the cd rom properly(no screws)...The screen you saw flashed is the BIOS,also check fitment of all plug in type accessories......
take the side panel off the case. remove the power supply cable (4 pin molex) Remove the data cable (flat cable) you might need to snap off the front cover. remove the screws that hold the cd in the tower.
