Asus S478 via P4V533-MX problem with my P4 processor...cant able to display my p4 2.4GHZ proc...it says motherboard can support up to 2.8GHZ 533/400 fsb but why cant run in my 2.4ghz processor? I put 1.7GHZ it runs good but if i put 2.4ghz it would not run and cannot able to display...whats the problem with my motherboard?

Do you want to risk your processor for that? it will literally kill your motherboards power section.

Please enter in the BIOS and go to this screen


Be sure that in the BIOS you have set AGP 4X and Primary Graphics Adapter AGP.

no, the proc will lose speed. the FSB is a part of the equation that determines the processors speed. A lower FSB speed will mean reduced performance.

First, try resetting the CMOS. If it is not working, replace the RAM. Could be a damaged RAM
