Hp photosmart 945 does not turn on all the way

I am using Lithium batteries (very successfully) and it indicates they are about one third used. I can turn the power on, using the "on/off" switch. The next step would be to press the button with the camera picture on it, so you can take pictures. This apparently is not working..The screen remains black (lens cap is removed). When the camera is first turned on, the screen will flash white and then go black. The camera has not been bumped or dropped; and I had just used the camera about 5 mins earlier and all was working okay.
I would appreciate any assistance you can give.

I have exactly the same problem, the camera works perfectly if the batteries are fully charged, but it turns off after taking 15-20 pictures, then I can't turn on again.

I think the camera is not reading the battery life correctly....not sure. It indicated I still had well over half the life left. I changed the batteries and all seems to be okay at this time.

HP photosmart 725 battery is not charging

This camera takes a lithium battery and if it is left to fully discharge then you may never be able to charge it up again. Your answer may be another battery. Find a cheap third party battery to try it out.

I do not have the set-up disk. I am trying to copy from the HP to the moniter.

You can either download software from HP's website or use a third party program such as Google's Picasa to download the photos for you.

About how long is the lithium battery life of video shooting with the hp photosmart m517 ?

It depends on the rating of the batteries and how your camera is configured. More information about which configurations use the most power and how lithium holds up in those situations can be found at:

Batteries

Popular alkaline batteries are inexpensive and can be found anywhere, but their power is consumed at a rapid rate. If you're using all of your camera's features, you can deplete a set of alkaline batteries in about 30 minutes! You should consider spending a little more up front for a battery charger and some rechargeable batteries. Many cameras (including many HP Photosmart digital cameras) work with the popular, rechargeable nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. They are inexpensive and environmentally friendly, and they give you more pictures per charge than any other battery types, except for lithium-ion batteries—another battery of choice for many HP Photosmart cameras.
